Dead Weight Cut Free!!!

It has been reported in today's Sunday Telegraph that Andrew Lomu has been given permission to join another club before the June 30 deadline.

I think most will agree he has been a huge disappointment and we have far better and younger forwards coming through.

When he took up the ball this season it looked like he was cradeling a baby and towing a tonne of bricks.

Good riddence you soft C**K!!!!!!

Can't see him getting a gig elsewhere. Money wise he would be better off sticking out his contract. Maybe this will shock him into action.

I disagree with your sentiments on all accounts, he is not soft and has actually got several offers.

He did nothing in Firsts. The Newtown imports, Jon Green etc. all have more potential than him.

Took the ball up as if he was carrying a dozen eggs.

Lomu, will end up at souths, warriors or england.

We must also look at who else can go end of year, that no longer need.

Maybe Isemonger might be another if contract up, he is getting on, and we seem to have stack younger guys ready to go, who would be on less

Jon Green was already with us and is not a Newtown import.

The article says Canberra are very interested.

Souths would be desperate for him.

Hence me distinguishing his name from the Newtown list, sh*t-for-brains.

Lomu was not having the best year NRL wise and should of been dropped when he was. But he's no bum.

Players don't perform for many reasons. Maybe he gets on better with Murphy and Raper. Maybe the NRL game plan doesn't suit him. Maybe he never settled into life as a Shark.

Number 1 example of a player who didn't go well in a certain environment would be Dykes who is on fire again after being labeled a "bum" when he was at Parramatta.

Lomu will get a gig for sure.

I really liked Lomu but in 2 years of grade with us - no wait 4 years of grade he had two good games.

Against Manly
Against us in the finals in 2002

Other then that he has just been a big guy who gets belted. We are paying him to much money to be playing for the Jets. Sending him packing means we can now afford 2 name players if the books are done right. Parra did this last season - cut dead weight for names and now with Lomu gone that is a fair bit of dead weight gone to give us room to attack the market with - even if Stevo stays.

This move could see us land a quality prop and a quality 2nd rower - what Lomu was supposed to be.

My money is on him going to Widnes. Still I don't get the point of cutting a player mid season unless we are going broke or likely to go over the cap.

What if we get a lot of injuries to the forward pack?

by cutting him now we save on his contract wages. we have other, better players to cover injuries.

if we can offload him then do it asap
