It would appear that players aren't the only ones who follow the dollars after these two jumping ship.

MELBOURNE Storm has been jolted from their dream season by injuries to two backline stars and news football manager Dean Lance is set to become the latest official to quit the club.

After announcing centres Steve Turner and Matt King had been ruled out for the season and two weeks respectively, Melbourne was last night fighting anagainst-the-odds battle to retain Lance in the faceof a handsome offer from North Queensland.

Should he accept the Cowboys' overtures, Lance will become the second key member of the Storm's highly successful front office to leave in the past week.Just last Wednesday, the club was rocked by star recruitment manager Peter O'Sullivan's decision to join the Roosters in 2008.

The pair are pillars of support for coach Craig Bellamy, who is on the verge of guiding Melbourne to consecutive minor premierships. Melbourne CEO Brian Waldron last night confirmed Lance's departure could be official "in a couple of days''.
"Dean has been approached by the Cowboys and he's been up front with us about the conversations he's had,'' he said. "As I understand it, they've offered him a role that's slightly different to the one he has here.''

"We would dearly love Dean to stay, but at the end of the day it's his decision.'' Cowboys CEO Peter Parr also confirmed he was in discussions with Lance, who was raised in Cowboys territory in Innisfail.

No big loss...I listen to him on SEN and he is boring as hell and often cannot answer half the questions posed by listeners.
