I personally know someone who got depression because of a bad case of acne that caused excessive ridicule from other people. He didn't kill himself, but it had crossed his mind. Now tell me that is stupid.

Actually, acne is a proven cause for certain cases of depression, which is pretty broad in category.

You're downplaying racism by comparing it to any other sledge in your suggestion that if racist sledging is banned all sledging should be banned. As if to imply they're on an equal footing.

No... I merely stated that there are varying degrees of 'sledging' in which words or insults can often be just as bad as racism.
I'm certainly not implying that the general 'Hey idiot' remark is on the same level as racism. The Corey Patterson issue is a prime example of that. But who am I kidding? I guess in some people's worlds, it's just black or white, racism or no racism, anything outside of that is 'okay' or just 'going overboard'.
Perhaps, by your own words, I may be 'downplaying' racism, but in saying that, you inherently 'downplay' discrimination which comes in various other forms, just like how you ignorantly 'downplayed' cases of acne. You hardly seem like a better person than the ideals you try to represent.
