Dean Young Defensive coach

I think a season as a Super League coach would be great for Dean. That is where he would learn so much more and develop into an NRL coach just like Robbo and Maguire have done. He can then also act as a scout and send any promising talent down to the Saints. If he goes well and wins a comp or 2 that would be enough to impress me that he should be the next Dragons coach but until then should not even be in the conversation.

If I was Dean, I'd would have gone down the Hornby, Tony Smith route.

He didn't hire himself though so, can't get to worked up about it and we see improvement through the year.

Didn't really like him that much as player, however did I hate him more as a coach or as trainer? That'd be a tougher question to answer.

Dean has had more than enough opportunities to prove himself at the Dragons. He even had a stint at the Cowboys also to prove himself.

I'd say it's time for Dean Young to give it up. Let's get a real defensive coach.

Like a lot of forum members, I really liked Dean Young as a player, but as a defence coach? Not so much. The Dragon's defence is far too erratic for the team to actually be well coached in their defensive structure. Whatever method of coaching that Dean is using is just not working reliably. I don't have any suggestions for a replacement for Dean, but it is obvious that if something is not working, then something has to change.

How do you fix the defence issues of Sloan, Suli
Sloane is a defensive clown , if he not missing a tackle he is knocking his pown players out of the way, his defensive reads is like another Ravalawa, he doesnt even chase, he is lightning with the ball in hand, he has loose screws as a footballer.
Suli is a yardage eater and thats about it, very lazy type of player

Maybe. I haven't seen enough of Allen to know if he has got back to the level he was before his injury. I know Suli is a very effective battering ram, but certainly has defensive and concentration issues. As I am not in the inner circle, I have to rely on coach Flano to choose the best options for the team make-up (and hope he gets it right)!
