Geez there was some ordinary ref decisions. Good job they have banned punching or this game would have been a massive blow up. Grubby play on both sides allowed to continue created more and more frustration.

Can someone explain why the strip on thaiday wasn't play on and try?

Wasn't deemed a strip.

Not sure if you are fishing or not.

I think the "automatic 10mins" for hitting rule makes the game grubbier.
No way to release built up frustration in a big punch up.

I was more annoyed that it was deemed no try for the wrong reason by the onfield ref, but happy enough that it was disallowed.

Hayne just dislodged it.

You can't be done for a strip when the opponent is going for a try anyway.

You need to regain control first. He didn't

I thought that was just in a fumble, Haynes hand clearly rips the ball out? At that point it is play on and thaiday dropping on the loose ball should be a try shouldn't it? Not sure how they could say it wasn't a strip when Haynes hand is clearly on the ball ripping it out?

But surely it is play on? The no penalty rule is only in the case of more than one player involved over the line. Hence the nsw penalty in a similar situation but not over line.

Hayne did't rip it out, his left arm came around Thaiday's torso and dislodged it.

It wasn't a strip, and also, Thaiday didn't regain control, he landed on the ball at the exact same time the ball hit the ground.

is deemed a loose carry which means a knock on. was a clear cut decision... i cant believe there can be any argument over it

I'm with you. I think he regains the ball before it grounds. Could be the qld in me.

I'm as one eyed maroon as they come but I was ok with it. Would have loved to have gone our way but it was a fair call. The woods touch before going into touch though ... That's footy I guess. We got a couple of good calls last game.
