So what do Aussies think of this? Personally, I think a 2 game suspension for Brady would be fair. As Skip Bayless pointed out on twitter, fair or unfair, his legacy is permanently tainted.

Its highly likely he cheated but the nfl were asking for it by giving that power to the teams. There is a reason umpires in cricket take the ball between wickets because if they didn't the players would use that as a chance to pull the seam out.

Sports people will cheat to get an advantage. The only thing this really changes is people who already hate Brady and the pats will just be smug arseholes about his record. Basically " well they cheated so it doesn't count with me *smug face*" thus leading to 40 to 50 years of boring flame wars

The shrinking number of talking heads still defending the Patriots say that the Colts still would have lost by a lot, regardless of the balls. That is probably true but I think it is easy to assume this has been going on for a while, especially when you read the text messages. The playoff game vs the Ravens was an instant classic so any advantage the Pats had may have had an impact on the outcome. Let's not forget this is a team that has already shown they are willing to work outside of the rules (spygate). Will be interesting to see if Brady is suspended or just gets a mighty big fine which Giselle could probably pay with the money in her glove box.

McNally took the game balls into a bathroom before the AFC championship game, locked the door and remained in there for approximately one minute and 40 seconds. He apparently took the game balls in a breach of standard pregame procedure, the report said. Referee Walt Anderson said it was "the first time in Anderson's nineteen years as an NFL official that he could not locate the game balls at the start of a game," according to the report.

But now that you've brought it up, they cheated their way to 4 superbowls and there's no denying that fact. This is how most nfl fans will view them except the ones that slurp up Tom Brady all day long, 24/7, more so then their own team.
