NRL chief executive David Gallop confirmed the all-Queensland play-off would almost certainly be played in Townsville - guaranteeing a 25,000 sell-out. Parramatta chief executive Denis Fitzgerald was the only official to speak out against the move.

Yet, Fitzgerald said: "My opinion is that the arrangements were in place, everyone knew them and I'm not in favour of changing them. David Gallop hasn't asked me what I thought of it but I believe the rules are the same for everyone and should stay as they are."

With forward thinking like that from Dennis, it's no wonder we ran 12th. Keep it up Dennis, we'll add to our spoon collection yet!

Am I too a fool for seeing his point?

I think it will be excellent for the game to have the Broncos V Cowboys clash at Townsville.

But it is giving the Cowboys the home ground advantage on a supposedly 'level playing field final'.

 And why did the Broncos agree? Hmmm an 8 win 1 draw no loss record at DFS would be a good reason........

The reason that they are played at the SFS or Telstra is because its a neutral venue. I'd hate to think that next year if we were to play the Cowboys in the semi-finals that they'd move it because they were guaranteed a bigger crowd at Dairy Farmers.....

I don't think the Cowboys have ever beaten the Bronco's at home, maybe why Bennet was happy to have the game moved.

What the hell does it have to do with Fitzy ?

He's on the board along with 14 other CEO's so it would have quite a bit.

The other week the NRL quashed the Roosters request of having the Finals venue swapped as it looked as if the Roosters would play at Telstra and the Dogs at Aussie. It was not changed at the time because of the neutral venue line. Now that it looks as if the crowds won't turn up the neutral venue line has been forgotten.

If the Cowboys are able to have the game moved then the Storm should have the final against the Dogs moved as well.

I posted this responce on the NRL board yesterday

Actually if Denis had agreed he'd look stupid. He would look very hypocritical saying it was fine to break whatever contract the NRL has with Aussie stadium but it was not OK for Jamie Lyon to break his Parramatta contract.

Maybe that's why he said no.

Got a point but really I can't see what this has to do with him, If Parra had made the finals then ok but otherwise....

There's plenty of other CEOs, and he makes more noise than all the others put together.

He wont be leaving anytime soon. The faster he goes the fast Smith is dislodged from the helm.
