MMM today said Hasler gets paid $1.2mln a year from the dogs - thats a cr@p load more than three times JT.

Id take him in a heart beat - but its never going to happen. We would have more chance signing Thurston.

There's a few things about Des that I don't like. One is that he tends to foster an "us against them" "we're under seige" mentality with the players, which I think is unhealthy. I could also anticipate that if he came to the Tigers he would make wholesale changes, some of which the fans wouldn't like. Would he stick with most of the current players but make them better? Or would there be a mass clearout and then signings of a stack of new players that suit his playing style? Having said that I doubt we'd get him for financial reasons. Bellamy is someone who'd be ideal for the Tigers.

The financials probably make it impractical but for a club with such low % of finals appearances doesn't make it sense to chase a guy whose teams have played finals 12 out of the past 13 seasons?

Funny that this topic gets 6 replies here compared to 6 pages on the Dragons forum...

Doubt he would lower his standards to go to either of the clubs but just goes to show how little optimism and hope that we now have these days...

Nothing good will ever happen to the Tigers right?

Des might harden the place up a little, but really I think his style of game plan would not suit our roster and I think it is now a little out dated. I would keep Taylor for one more year on a quarter of the coin and maybe have a guy like Cleary ready to take over if the wheels fall off . Anyway the mail is he off to the dragons

I'd prefer Griffin over Cleary to be honest. That man knows how to make the young players get to their potential.

Its a lot easier to bring on young kids when you surround them by quality experienced players and Penrith and before that the Bronks had plenty of them

Griffin played Josh Hoffman at 5/8 for most of a season, some of his selections at the Broncos were like Sheens at his worst.

I'd be pretty shocked if WT decided to punt JT now, it's not our style. We'll wait until all the good coaches are taken then sign Matthew Head or Todd Payten for $100k, a six pack and a packet of chips.

Taylor got us 1 win away from making finals. If we are in top 8 by mid-season next year then I'm happy to persist with Taylor for another year or two. If our season is looking completely lost then we should look at getting a new coach.

No point paying two coaches like we did with Sheens. Let Taylor see out his contract

I agree. Let's see how he goes next year. If he fails again then look for alternative options.

Anyone got any speculation about how Teddy and Moses feel about playing under JT in 2018 and beyond??

Obviously going to be a factor in whether they stay....

I just don't get some of Taylor's selections week in week out...

Taylor needs to be doing better than just scraping into the Top 8 for mine next year to be retained... This is his 3rd year - no more excuses...

Was told that no one is happy playing under him but naturally they won't say that publicly, much like this year with the Farah thing, the players were behind Farah and not Taylor.

It is a reason that the young ones are holding out re signing beyond 2017 but that could work in JT's favour, by that I mean, if they want to look elsewhere they better be playing very well in deed or no one will sign them, thinking Brooks there specifically.

Wittyfan may be able to confirm his situation

Almost everyone is off contract next year.
But Im guessing Woods, Moses and Brooks are three.
