The only reason we’ve gone well in recent seasons is Des’ coaching and a few star players firing. He definitely doesn’t always get it right, and he’s far too slow to drop underperforming players sometimes, but who else could turn plodding halves like Lachlan Croker into a decent hooker and have us making prelims with the roster we had? Only a select few and they’re hard to come by.

Exactly right. He’s done well all things considered. Now you are going to replace him with Anthony Siebold 🤨

This decision is obviously nothing but a personality clash

If I was the knights I’d be in haslers ear. He is a coach who could get that team firing. Though not sure the club itself could control him. But that would take a few years before it went balls up.

There is some serious clash of egos going on at Manly at the moment, both within the roster over the Pride Jersey debacle/DCE's special treatment and between Des and the administrators, and they are going to suffer badly for it, at least in the short term. Signing Seibold on after he delivered the Brisbane Broncos their first ever wooden spoon is at best shortsighted and at worst straight up wilful vandalism, especially when Madge and Flanagan are out there looking for a gig. I would sooner take Elton John as a coach over Seibold after what he did to my club.

It would be an absolute travesty if the 2 good brothers didn't end up winning a comp.

I almost hope they leave and get the success they deserve, cause they won't be winning much at Manly whilst ever Penn holds the keys.
