Couple of weeks out and no major sponsor. Now they go cap in hand to the latest rich guy to show a vested interest in RL. Maybe someone should have told them that he has already said he has no intention of putting his own money into a future Perth NRL team he might own!

Whilst its obviously preferable that we have a major sponsor, the club had offers on the table and felt they were not enough $$ to warrant a spot on our jersey, we decided to instead give the spot to the eden monaro cancer support group instead of under selling our jersey

we are in a position where financially we are able to make this decision, with the support of the QLC Group.

Id rather give the advertising to a good cause then under sell our jersey to some 2 bit local operation. The Raiders will wait until they get the dollars and a sponsor worthy of their jersey

Worked for Canterbury (bit different). Jaycar paid way more than anyone else would have. Good move by Canberra.

From a Raiders perspective, we get very little coverage, regardless of performance, add to that we are in, what is essentially a large country town. Its a government town, lots of money for the middle class, not a lot of "big business" in the town

which also disadvantages us when it comes to 3rd party deals. Which is why im an advocate for junior concessions to help even the playing field for developmental clubs against the big splash and dash of big cities, but that is an argument for another thread
