The thing that Sheens should be held most accountable for are the years we have missed Benji being able to play the game that we all wanted to see. Back in 05 when he had Prince outside him, he was allowed to play with the freedom of the five eighth he always was. In those early years Benji was a human highlights reel.
Now I honestly dont expect anything from him with the current style of game he has been forced to play. These days I look to Robbie as a one man show, and when Farah is out, I expect nothing from our team.
I wonder if Benji realises what his mate Tim has actually done to him with his demented mission to take a brilliant off the cuff player and turn him into a team organiser rather than simply recruiting one. By the time he has a genuine halfback playing outside him, and to be fair this may never happen under the Sheens regime, his best years will be more behind him then ahead, and the confidence he used to exude that allowed his brilliance to shine will probably be a shadow of what it should be.
I will never understand why Sheens thought to take his most potent attacking weapon and play him out of position and change his game altogether. I cant comprehend why lack of success with the talent and playing roster has not seen Sheens realise his error, or more importantly, be held accountable for his error by the powers that be at board level. All I can say is when Marshall retires I will personally look at his career with regret that he was not given the opportunity to be the brilliant player he was destined to be, and that league fans in general missed out because of an egotistical coach and a spineless board.
