Suddenly the world is a better place

In June 2007, Townsend began to discuss the plans for his next solo studio album, describing it as a "hugely complicated, dynamic metal 'symphony' thing...mainly instrumental."[36] The upcoming album is currently entitled Ki, tentatively set for release in late May to early June 2009.
Townsend has continued to provide updates about the album through his official message board. "I've worked on this record more than almost any record I've ever done next to Ocean Machine," says Townsend. "Sometimes I think it's brilliant and sometimes it freaks me out."[37] In September 2008, he announced that he planned to begin recording "in the next 2 months", retreating to northern Canada to work on the album, with the possibility of "a show or two" in the coming months.[38]
In February 2009, Townsend revealed that Ki and Deconstruction will be two of four upcoming releases: "Yeah, 4 records. An Appetizer, 2 meals and a desert. Ki is the appetizer...heavy chill. I start the next one the day after...then the next will be the symphony, then an ambient album. Tentatively, Ki is the mellow-ish intro to the story (a very pointed theme though, it's unnerving)... Addicted is the next one, heavy, fun and dance-y ...I like good choruses and dancing. Deconstruction is a treat for the syl and ziltoid fans...(and then some...damn...it's f**king nuts.) The ambient album, (sand theme) will close it off."[citation needed]
Preceding announcements revealed that the four new albums will be released under the name "Devin Townsend Project".[39] Devin has also stated in his forums that "universe willing", all four albums would be released in 2009,[citation needed] and they would be followed up next year by and eight-disc box-set, containing all four albums, as well as four bonus discs (including videos) and a booklet. He has also announced he intends to return to the live stage at select locations worldwide after completion of all his musical projects, assuming he can find the right musicians to do it with him.[40]

Well for the record, probably yes.

I reckon it sounds pretty promising, but then I quite like SYL and I'm a big fan of wanky conceptual metal albums.
sad part is I was being serious as I have $80 to spend on Itunes .
Dev took my interest as taking the piss.

Does't pay the artist anything though....

It does if they're any good.

I download albums I'm not sure about and give them a listen - if it's good I go out and buy it, if not, well I'm not going to listen to it anyway so I dump it.

Well if you put it that way- but then you might as well say it's cheaper than CDs too. I use iTunes as a replacement for buying CDs, as all my music gets played back off a hard drive anyway- all my CDs live in storage and never come out of their cases, so buying online for me is cheaper and more convenient.

Sometimes I have to download music. I prefer buying CD's, believe it or not. But I just can't find some bands - November's Doom and Bloodbath, to name but two, don't seem to exist to music stores.

Sometimes, our one is small compared to many others. Ain't going to Pitt St Mall, despite them having amazing amounts of metal records.
