Ioane grew up playing rugby on Saturdays and league on Sundays and was identified by the Melbourne Storm before taking up a school rugby scholarship in Brisbane.

He admits he misses league and would like return to the 13-man code, possibly after his new two-year deal with Queensland expires.

"I don't hate kicking but you don't really have to kick it [in league]. You just have to beat blokes one on one," he said.

A huge fan of the Storm and teenage winger Israel Folau, Ioane said Melbourne's attacking style of play was a major attraction to switching codes.

Hope he is better at League than union...too small IMO.

Only get him if King does go to England, otherwise I can't fit him into our backline. Especially considering he probably won't come cheap. I think he would do well in League, he would be wise to leave Union.
