That side might get beat considering you have only one winger picked and only 16 players in total on fire .....glad your not the coach.,

would you prefer to pick the same side and this time next year be a even worse position

SBW by the sounds of it will go to the highest bidder .That in itself rules us out as we are only in the hunt for second tier players

My bet is he was going to Auckland. Prob touching base with Cleary.

Although Newcastle was playing over there. Prob doing a follow up from the Newcastle trip after the conference.

I can see a NYC Player from Newcastle being announced to join the other 6 or so lower grade signings so far

I heard he was looking at a new range of natural hair colour solution in Auckland.

Direction for next year - Up. Can't get any worse. After punching above our weight last season and finishing second this season was probably the worst overall in ME's five year reign. Can't wait for it to end to be honest. Arguably the most disappointing season in my forty years supporting the club.

I don't know about that. Things were pretty bad when Terry Wickey and Ross Gigg were our 'go to' men in attack.

Seriously, it's sad to be pessimistic going into any new season but yet again the outgoings far exceed the incomings. The recruitment has been very ordinary to see the least and I understand Gus has to clean up the mess left behind from the previous regime but we have little hope of making the eight. Normally I am pretty upbeat, but I have serious doubts about 2012. Unlikely to see much improvement on recent seasons until 2013 at the earliest.

I think that is the expectation.

Anything else is too optomistic imo.

We should view next year as development year...learning Cleary's system...his structure. Getting the junior guys developed with a view to seeing a number of juniors emerging to the team for 2013 and getting someone like James Maloney.

I thought last year we were reasonable in defence. The Canberra game we were great in defence. We went to sleep at times so we can improve a bit still.

Our problem was our attack & stupid errors. We were in both Melb & Manly games, WT at Campbelltown, Newcastle up there. Brisbane up there. All these games we had great field position especially early on but came away with nothing. That's where I would start

Silly mistakes played their part but I think the bigger issue was that our attack was just so damn predictable.

Yeah. Not just predictable but poor when we did run it on the last or something we went to the right. Despite having Lewis/Jennings on the left who would of been far more potent.

Our main attack was centred around:

Lewis going himself
Jenning scooting out of dummy half
McKendry barging over from close to the line
Scoring off a kick.

Typically I had no confidence of us scoring when we had the ball within the 20m last year.

We missed Wade Graham and Pritchard.

Unless Siejka/Austin can step up nothing is going to change.
