Disappointment at Penrith Stadium

Got out to Penrith and supported the team. howevre the try agaisnt the EELS before half time really caused their demise. It seems whenever Brian Smith talks to them we get unmotivated and usually causes to be outplayed. Positives is our defense which has improved a lot, two tries were jsut brilliance from Roberts. I still think Witt has to stay with dykes to 5/8 and get that combinations going. Tim Smith played pretty poorly in prems. Peterson was good but Grothe will take his place on reutrn from injury.

Smith will reshuffle the backline like usual. I think grothe has to come in for ash but iam not the coach.

Penrith were really starting to gel without Gower (during 2nd half last wk)

So we really had to be up on our game

did the pl win

Nah PL and Flegg lost too, got there at 3:30 to see Parra lose all day.

Flegg lost 28-18, and there was a bit of biff on, 2 of us got sent off, number 8 and number 4 (I think).

PL lost 34-18, not too sure about the score of that one.

Ah well, $7 for concession (student) not complaining about that!

hahaha during 1st div i kept on telling the panthers fans to put their flags away cos it was the cougars on the field

we lost but i didn't think it was too bad. it was heaps warmer than last week and i was actually wearing shoes. the lewis-pearson biff was awesome and was hindy's one good play. and sideshow's try was dynamic. and vella's try. and of course, mckinnon's big hit. what a hit!!! whilst it's kinda crappy we're obviously not a top-tier team right now, i won't ever go home disappointed when we put in a good performance like that

Yeah, halfy, going home with memories of Vellas hit on lang, and his try, Ash's Bosnich impression....not as good as going home with 2 points.

Very true, IMO we just don't have the playing personell to beat the top teams and I thought they put up a damn fine effort. Tis always a little disapointing to lose but it's good to see them compete for the whole game and give it their best, you gotta know your limitations.

commiting and fightijng till the end as they have since the win v Knights is all I've ever asked.

They gave both Penrith and Brisbane a damn big fright & fight in the last two weeks and it wouldn't surprise many too see those two teams in the final 4.

Eric will come back into the team of course, and almost certainly at the expense of Ash, but I think Ash is really starting to look good again and is gaining a lot of confidence back now. How good was that slips catch!!

WTF is wrong with asking for the club to be competetive?

We should be top 4, not trying hard and losing to the top 4!

Don't disagree but you need a good player recruitment/retention policy to achieve that. Something we badly lack so IMO we are simply not a top 4 side at the moment. We are suffering from mistakes made in the backoffice over the last 3 years far more than mistakes made on the field tonight.
