No, that's because you're too good for the guys you're not interested in, which is why you have no trouble getting their attention. Similarly the reason you can't get the attention of the guys you DO have an interest in is because they're too good for you and therefore have no interest in you.

So yes, we do want what we can't have i suppose, but not _because_ we can't have it, but because it's good.
