Egan and Harris. Yes the have sticky tape holding them together.

Perhaps CNK, if only to give the backup a run.

The rest no, Shaun needs a week with a new 6. Imagine that Metcalf broke again.

The rest stay match fit.

I'm a bit worried about SJ quad since he not goal kicking, but not sure 1 week off fixes it either?

No. Not en masse anyway. We haven’t responded well to byes and we aren’t playing well
agree. one more chance to play ourselves back into form and Dolphins could be just the team for it on a nice dry surface. We are shit after a week off anyway.

Is TMM match fit? Has he been playing reserves? If so, thank god for the perfect timing. One match to get back into it before finals.

My understanding is he plays cup today then 6 days rest before likely selection for the Dolphins game on saturday

I'm thinking key players with niggles. Egan, Harris, Johnson come to mind. Not sure if a week off for CNK would help prevent him more from a concussion if a simple headclash occurs?
Give some other match fitness in case these niggle get more serious.

Agree we have not been playing well enough to rest players. But would hate to see a niggle turn to an injury that means the player is out of final series, when we had this opportunity.

Also consider the travel aspect, it will be back to back weeks crossing the ditch.
Do rested players get to fly over or stay home?

I'm saying yes but by a narrower margin than last week. We're not really clicking and need the hit out but I'm scarred by 2007.

We were at Penrith in the last round, resting players wasn't an option (as we were playing for top-four and Penrith the spoon). We won, but lost the in-form Vatuvei and Ropati for the finals. That really hurt, as our attack lacked bite.

We have conceded one try after hundreds of tackles since half time vs Manly and that try was off a Dragons kick.

We have only just found our defensive momentum. No way you disrupt that in my books, all going well there are only four games left to play and one of them is going to be easier next Saturday.

And then there is the fact that if you rest players Te Maire Martin has zero chance of being finals ready.

Picking a preseason trial side is not how you get TMM ready to play a key roles in the finals.

We have to play all our key assets around him and give him the best dress rehearsal possible if we are to be any chance of winning the whole thing.

I'm in the no rest camp.

I haven't played in an NRL finals match but I imagine any fatigue or bumps and bruises get washed away pretty quickly by the euphoria of a finals campaign, and especially the promise of doing so at home.

If fate takes someone by injury, that's just thr nature of this comp. Only way I could think of 'resting' someone is if they had a cork or a minor injury that would probably be OK for a final but would benefit more from a rest

The reserves had a massive win which was good.
But TMM was pulled off at the 50 minute mark.

Christ I hope he didn’t get injured again.

Looks like he took a leg knock, was heavily iced, but standing on the side line without supports so it cannot be really serious.

If it was serious he would be seated and or evac from the stadium for urgent scans, given the halves crisis at the club.

Volkman had an awesome game and TMM's Center partner scored twice.

In terms of why the ice, that is speculative on my part, I mean it is obvious he needed swelling treatment, but I cannot tell you whether that was the leg with the break which has been hurting anyway as part of normal recovery of a serious leg injury.

For example, given everything we know, ice on the leg might have been the plan made before the game once he left the field.

Nervous wait now for a club announcement, nothing posted yet so it cannot be season ending.

We are so lucky to have an in form Volkman as a last resort. His cross field attacking kicks have been amazing.

We need to build combinations both in attack and defence - no rest for me although it’s a risk. Also a big risk to rest players and the team is clunky in the finals as we have been after each bye.

Also we could still finish 2nd. Broncos have to beat Raiders and Storm. Panther points differential is too big to be caught.
