Look like I said.
If we win the mext 7 keep BA.
If we only win 2 and cop some floggings we cut ties.
End of discussion.

His team he built. It isnt a happy squad and that is why players aren't performing.

I'd prefer someone with experience but if we want a new coach (rather than one with nrl experience) get Justin Holbrook. Plenty of experience as an assistant at a few clubs (including Parra) and doing pretty well over seas.

What if we win 3 and lose the rest by 2 points each?

Like I’ve said before. Every coach goes a little stale on the players, that’s not unheard of. Unfortunately that’s the nature of the beast. I don’t know who’d be a candidate for next season or beyond, but if we aren’t considering extending BA at this point in time, then surely we need to make a premature call before another season is lost.

You're assuming the club thinks that next season will be lost.

Yep, that’s what has me worried about BA. He seems all out of ideas. Our attack is non existent and very predictable. Not enough bodies in motion maybe too much structure.

I agree our attack at times looks predictable, especially with the sweeping block plays! And we lack that big attacking forward in the middle (vave isnt good enough). I hate those mid field bombs which Norman seems to do. I also don’t understand why we don’t use Moeroa more when attacking on the edge, have some structured plays using him - don’t think we use his skill set enough.

However we have scored the same tries as the opposition on 7 or 8 times. Which does show we can match the attacking ability of our opposition at times (yes it can get better)

Additionally our best attacking back Hayne has been injured for half the year. Gutho has come back from injury and Pritchard just as he was showing some form was injured again - how many games has our spine / Hayne played together ? Also Moses was injured too.

Brown has also been injured who offers a point of attack in the middle. Then add losing our attacking edge forward in Edwards then T-rex.

So yes BA can do better but there are some reasons our attack has been poor.

Also it is hard to change structures mid year. You can’t just get players playing a different style which isn’t suitable to their skill set or training them up mid year. Souths is mentioned as a side which changed their style but it did take an off-season plus they had a couple of massive forwards (burgess boys) out of form last year which helps.

Also I am sure BA knows our attack needs to change, he has signed one of the better attacking middle forwards in Paulo, while Ferguson adds another running player who can break tackles / make metres.

Just those 2 players gives us a lot more “running” in the side, giving our halves more room to work with.

While Paulo adds better quality offloading ability and play making skills in the middle (you can use him for set players). Additionally Lane while probably a back up, does seem to be able to break tackles which could add something to our attack.

And we are still looking at more signings too. Another forward and a hooker / half has been mentioned. Potentially another 3 additional top 17 players.

No. I said ‘if’. We’ve given him the luxury of still signing players for next year, so I’m assuming at this point he will be the coach in 19. But then when do we draw the line in the sand? All of 2019? Mid season??? Either back him (with an extension) or sack him!

My apologies. You did.

Depends on next year's circumstances really. Who knows what coaches will pop up next year and be available for 2020?

No problems.

Your last point is what worries me. We give BA free reign this year and next to adjust the roster, only to tap him on the shoulder, say June/July next year. (Now I’m assuming) By the time we appoint an appropriate candidate, it’ll be August and the quality players would all have their contracts sorted elsewhere.

The alternative is to arsehole him now or at the end of this season and replace him with someone who isn't really much better (based on who is available).

Lets hope we get back on track at the start of next year and this exchange becomes redundant!

no they haven't,

Souths have shown what that young coach with new ideas can do, its a bit of a stretch to assume that all young coaches will achieve the same

Souths and Titans have new coaches this year........pretty much proves your point!
