I do remember that not too long ago the Broncos beat a certain team 71-6. We all thought we'd be on the mother of a hiding at OKI the next weekend. Nothing is certain in footy, that's for sure.
Not to knock the optimism on the head too much, but they were two completely different scenario's and two different teams.
Newcastle, in Brissy, with injuries, and player discontent. Brisbane, needing something big to keep their season on track, at home, and a Hodges carving up.
Brisbane then came to Oki, with Saints new buy Soward raring to go, a hostile home crowed and a grudge match with Brissy.
Melbourne beat North Qld at home, both teams fairly full strength, and Melbournes defence in the first half was inpenetrable.
Now we're going to the graveyard, Cronk may be injured, but Bellamy will be sure to not let the Saints/Brissy incident repeat itelf, and will be out to prove the team can win without Cronk. Plus their defence is much better than Brisbanes, and our attack is probably worse off without Chase in the side.
I think we'll lose, but I also think the team will fight hard and we'll go down by only 10.
Which, against the current Minor Prems, is a good result if it occurs.
