It could. But there's far better options.
The Dolphins kinda have that territory if they use it !
The AFL would kill to have a Sunshine Coast up it's sleeve

Should be considered down the track. Fast growing region with separate identity to Brisbane, 300k+ population. QLD govt is a lot more likely to continue upgrading Kawana stadium than ever build a new stadium in Ipswich.
