Does Tim Smith qualify for Queensland in Origin???

Lists his junior clubs as Runaway Bay up here but I suspect he may be a dirty filthy stinking Blue.

He lists his favourite players as Fittler and Johns so I'm thinking there is a Runaway Bay in NSW?????

If he is a Queenslander surely he wouldn't list dirty filthy stinking Blues as his favourite players?????

Can someone please confirm?

It depends on where is first played after he turned 16.

I'd say based on him listing his junior club as Runaway Bay and him going stragiht from there to Parra that technically he is classed as a Blue however, the rules have been altered in the past so if he wants to I'm sure it will be worked out for him to be able to be a Queenslander if he wants to.

Why anyone would want to be a Queenslander is beyond me but each to his own

He is from the Gold Coast and played for QLD in the School Boys sides.

But was he 16 at the time

Ash Graham played for NSW under 17's (might have been 19's) but was still in Cairns at 16 so he is a QLDer

Because he'll be the Queensland halfback by the time the next Qld winning dynasty starts!!!!!!!

So Tim Smith will still be playing in 2256?

For the good of Parra it would be better if he was a QLDer. Too many halfbacks to choose from as far as NSW is concerned. Look at Scott Prince, he would never get a look in if he was from NSW. Playing for QLD has made him a better player and more importantly a better player for the Tigers.

Smithy is eligable for QLD he played for many years with the Runaway Bay club and no he is not a Kiwi .
Please give the kid a chance before you start talking him up as SOO player , I have no dout he will be a chance of making the grade but will make many mistakes on the way there , its down to the Parra wether they give him the leanancy and oppertunity to develop .
