I find you hard to believe. Fittler was sponsored by Wizard. Tell me what he did for them?

More to the point - tell me how nobody knows about it?

I refer..... again back to your original question:

A thing I'm wondering is that if the Bulldogs didn't know about this payment are there other players on their books that could be getting money they know nothing of?

To which I replied:

For doing what?

And this is the thing I'm still struggling to get my head around. Do you think The Roosters don't know about Freddy and/or Wizard asked him not to tell them?

I'd really just like one example of how the scenario in your question could be - and don't fall for the sucker line "We didn't know" supposedly attributed to Mal Noad in the Sunday Sucker article because if you read a bit further he adds "until we seen the ad on TV."

So anyway - give me a scenario.

Oh and Kelly - give up son you're irrelevant. Not even worth the bait.

well they didn't know, did they?

sucker line my arse.

Fittler was an example of a player getting sponsorship money WITHOUT appearing in a freakin commercial ](*,)

Something that seems is beyond your comprehension.

Who The Dogs?

Well it sort of become obvious once he was seen in a f***in' commercial didn't it?

I'm talking about before then ](*,)

When will it sink into your head not all 3rd party sponsorship deals involve appearing in commercials ](*,)

You wanted an example of this and I gave you Fittler yet you still don't get it ](*,)

And forget the f***in' commercial for f***'s sake (I wish I never bought it up as an example in the first place).

The point is... I refer back to your original question......... again.

Mark Bouris was the CEO for Wizard. Wasn't he also a member of the Roosters millionaires club?

The millionaires club (or whatever it's called) is a club that rich and influential business executives pay a fee to join. In return, they get provided a confidential setting in which to wheel and deal with other execs. They stand to make a fortune for their companies out of being a member of this club. From my understanding, being a member of this club is not classed as sponsoring the club. And if that's the case, then any money that members decide to throw at players in terms of sponsorship are not included under the salary cap.

Such sponsorships are a small price to pay for the benefits that being a member of such a club provides.

Keep an eye out for other clubs to introduce the same thing.

I gave you the Storm scenario. Nobody knows what the players did yet they were paid by their sponsors.

I realise this but they were cleared

from here http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/08/20/1029114108295.html

The NRL has cleared the Roosters of any third-party arrangements with Brad Fittler and sponsor Wizard. NRL chief David Gallop said the sponsorship deal had been investigated.

I know. It's perfectly legal. That's why other clubs have cottoned on to it, and many believe it explains the Roosters ability to do have so many top name players on their books.
