The depth this year is looking very good. It's not just the players who are performing now, we are very well covered for injuries.

Morris, Hickey, Winatana, Crisp, Danny Williams, Barba, etc are all very handy players who could come in and play important roles towards the back end of the season.

It's also a lot easier for players to slot in and play their best with a team that is travelling so well.

DJ lost confidence when Shifty left at the end of 2007. He's always been a confidence player and running off Kimmorley last week would've instilled a lot in him. Hopefully he maintains that all year.

The thing is Roberts and DJ both had their games affected when Shifty left. Yet on Saturday, DJ performed well without an experienced halfback outside him.

Finally Holdsworth shows why the coaches (both Folkes and Moore) have held out hope for him. They really needed him to deliver in this game and thankfully he handled the pressure.

I was a lot slower to write him off than some, but I think it'll be a while before I'm totally convinced that he can be consistent in FG as well. He still has a lot more potential and it will be interesting to see what a bit of confidence does for him.

I think Holdsworth is a great player to have as a backup, but I wouldn't like to see him in the team on a week to week basis.

That was the same issue we had with Holds'no'worth... he was a great back up player who would play fairly well when used every once so often but could never consistently back it up...

Same with Milard when i think about it...

I don't know what's going to happen when Morris comes back.. with both Milard and Idris playing well

Morris should walk in. Millard's been good but he isn't better than Morris.

I'm still wondering, what about next year? Do we take a punt and put Morris on the wing for El Masri after he retires? Do we try and sign Brett Morris and put him there? What happens in 2010?

Bretts basically wrapped up at the Dragons

"Dotting the i's and crossing the t's" as Wayne put it...

And putting Josh on the wing wouldnt be a good move... he left the Dragons for that very reason...

Put Heka there or put Idris on the wing

The only thing I can think of is an injury or something... but going on his form this year, nothing leads me to that conclusion. Also, can anyone shed light on Brett Morris? Some Dragons fans here say he's all but re-signed. I'm not denying that, but is there any info at all? Last I heard he was tipped to stay at the Dragons otherwise Bulldogs would be the other alternative. IMO if Dragons want to sign Poore for big bucks, they'll struggle to re-sign him.

If we cant get Brett Morris i believe Michael Robertson from Manly is off contract with Manly , i think he is a very good winger with great finishing. Im not sure what Manlys plans are with him but the Wolfman is off contract too
