As much as I hated playing against them they are definitely a good option. I still think Ipswich should get the nod in the next expansion process though.

I don't think we need another QLD team

We already have the Cowboys, Broncos, Storm and Gold Coast.

can't we look at another state?

The Storm need to double their efforts in Victoria now that fumbleball junior numbers are in free fall their.
Soccer is picking up most of the slack with the skinny kids but we can pick up the rest of the athletic kids.
Kids nowadays are not interested in playing for a Melbourne suburb they want to play for Australia in proper international comps

I jest about the storm, I mean I love em and hope they come last this year.

But a 2nd Brisbane team c'mon, lets at least try to expand the game a bit

I like the idea of Redcliffe, however as said above about Melbourne getting their shit together and supporting Victoria RL as the Sunny Coast should be Dolphins territory if they are a NRL club

I have a lady friend (Just a friend) who works in fumbelball house and that is the information coming back from grass roots level, via coaches etc.
Also as well you might be interested to know from my friend is that when they count junior numbers, if a school has a auskick program and that school has 800 pupils they count all the 800 as juniors regardless if the kids take part in the auskick program or not.
I'm surprised the NRL have not picked this up as I'm sure they must be aware of the false junior numbers for fumbleball in Victoria. Bare in mind that in the past fumbleball house has been caught in NSW and QLD with its porkie junior playing numbers claims, and it seems they doing the same in Victoria.
As we know they do use the junior playing numbers as a way of getting our taxpayers money.

I'd like to see this. Problem is though you have 2 strong bids in Ipswich and Redcliffe. Both would obviously play the vast majority of their games at Suncorp.

West Brisbane Jets - Based in Ipswich, targetting support base in Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and Toowomba/South West QLD.

North Brisbane Dolphins - Based in Redcliffe, targetting support base in Brisbane, Redcliffe and Sunshine Coast.

Why not just Redcliffe Dolphins? (I don't know Brisbane but in article it said 40km from Brisbane).

I'd be happy to see both Redcliffe and Ipswich get in. Both got plenty of history and a good region to cater to.

f**king what?!?!

Our school's has about 20 kids out of 340!!!!

FFS my kids could be stats. And at 7 and 5, they'd make Fight Club proud with their aversion to the Vicky Kicky game (to the point where they are insanely anti-AFL!).

I don't think alienating everone from outside Ipswich and Redcliffe is a good idea. Besides they will play most/all of their games smack bang in the middle of Brisbane.

Does this really surprise you? The NRL and clubs would be like: "we'll work that out 3 or 4 years from now -nows not the time"

They sound like a good prospect for expansion.

One minor detail is that they may need to add a colour to their jerseys to distinguish themselves against the Dragons, like how Port Adelaide added teal when they joined the AFL. Any thoughts?

Not sure how to best go about it really, but I don't think area a town specific name would be for the best.

Why not, it creates tribalism and a point of difference to the Broncos. Something like Redcliffe-Moreton dolphins would be instantly recognisable and establish them as the NRL side for the Moreton bay LGA
