I like "Vision Valley"

It's definetly a grower, much like "Winning Days". They may not be great live, but their albums = me likey.

Yeah, I've seen Something For Kate but I fell asleep to really remember much of the set. I couldn't escape the Vines as I was waiting to get into the D-Barrier at a Big Day Out. They were sloppy, uninteresting and just awful.

f**k... you guys should see The Church or Ed Keupper then .

Real coma stuff.

I like the Vines , when he sings properly he has a great voice.

The don't listen to the Radio song is a dig at all the techno and sampled music these days.

At least they are not the product of a TV competition.
Good luck to them.

Oh and it's Apsergers FTR.

The Vines

Living End

The vines would also kick the 'living sh*t' out of the 'living end'.

The Living End > The Vines becase...

*The Living End are better songwriters and arrangers. Chris Cheney is the one of the best Australian songwriters since Don Walker.

* The Living End are harder working. The boys from Wheelers Hill paid their dues through 10 years old playing parties, hot rod shows and doing 50s covers before hitting it big. The Vines were plugged as "saviours of rock" by some twit who writes for NME....quite possibly the worst music magazine in the world it is marginally better than the free "Sain" magazine from Sanity. TLE got their break by sending Green Day a demo tape and a t-shirt and were handpicked to support them in 1996....they worked hard to get to where they are. The Vines have a hard enough time trying to stay together.

* The Living End are survivors. The Vines will implode shortly. The Living End's troubles have included the loss of their long serving drummer, Chris Cheney and his wife cheating death in a car accident on the Great Ocean Road and the band being shafted by their Us record label. Craig Nicholls is a f**kwit, period. His behaviour will mean the end of the band. They are a 3 piece now aren't they?

*The australian music industry is fickle and even though TLE have had mixed results with album sales since their debut LP broke all records, their label has always had faith in them because of their hardcore, dedicated fans. The minutes the VInes record sales suck the label will cut them

*Better reputation. They have opened for ACDC and are opening for the Stones in Sydney tonight. Go figure. You don't get to open for bands THAT BIG unless you are musically awesome!

*A number of people have said the Vines are sh*t live. The Living End are the best live band in this country and have been over recent years. Even on the Oz Invasion Tour in the USA in 2004 where TLE were billed 3rd behind Jet and the Vines the majority of the crowd said The Living End were easily ther best band in the show.

*Better musicians. No need to explain really...

Again...TLE > The Vines.

the vines are terrible, whats so great about copying nirvana?, silverchairs already done that

Around 1994-95 I would have agreed with you. I'm not much of a Silverchair fan but as they've grown older they seem to have come into their own as musicians and songwriters.

Daniel johns is a big fan of some of my fav bands like Helmet, Fugazi and nirvana. They are some pretty big influences right there!

Better songwriters and arrangers? Say who? Chris Cheeney write the most stock standard, monotone songs ever.

Harder Working? Who cares? If The Vines don't want to play sh*t-whole Evan Theatres and Pubs, then that's their perrogative. Handpicked by Green Day, wow! Green Day are sh*t. Playing hot-rod shows, f**king awesome. Nothing like playing sh*t rock next to a '37 Ford with an engine the size of Sydney in it.

Survivors because he had a Car accident. Does this matter? No. If you wanna play this survivor angle up, then Craig Nichols came back from mental problems to record another album. He is a survivor now.

Vines live, TLE live. I have caught the Vines on a good night, and I have caught The Living End when they sounded like they were playing in an Otto Bin.

Survivor? Forget that he's still breathing, Cheney is lucky he could even walk again!

I won't put much stock in what you say. You're a Covell fan...you don't know any better.

another 2 bands i can't stand....but each to his own. If its been in NME the chances are I'll hate it...the Libertines are the exception to that rule.

They all suck. Get some Whitsnake 1987 into you and then you'll hear some great music. Crying in the rain would be the first preferance of the album.

In the still of the night I hear the wolf howl honey!!
