Its a real simple answer for Jake. Either the coach is broken, the players are broken, or both are broken, and what is broken needs to be fixed. And if you're saying it ain't the coach.... Well you're dumber than you look son.
I think there's a few broken players ,you cant go through so many coaches have them all fail and keep blaming the coach, at some point the players need to be looked at and whoever it is that's employing the coaches , although I think he may already be gone.

If we want to carry on being bog average and missing playoffs every year.
What have you got to lose Jake? Another person with different ideas might be what is needed

And maybe a better preseason plan? Players shouldnt be out on their feet 50mins into the game. This is the time of year when you should be peaking for playoffs... assuming you are in the playoffs.

Yeah, I think we're in a mess that isn't Cappy's making (although he isn't the coach that will get us out of it). If you're going to fire him, you need to replace him with a proven, top coach...otherwise, we'll just end up with another Cappy and be on a merry go round of mediocrity despite an infuriatingly good roster.

He's a smart cookie for puckering up to him in the media in case he is back next year tbh because his 50 metres of placid running a week isn't really demanding selection.

One confusing thing Cappy does is change players positions when they're going well there and at times, he lets underperforming players get selected the next week.

Players might not be performing but guess who rewards them selection the very next week? Cappy does.

I can almost sympathise with Cappy, because it can't be easy coaching a bunch of heartless dribblers. I'd even (almost) go as far to say as he's not the problem and when we get a player clean out things will improve.

But his absolutely geniused selections and bench rotations lost me for good. Yes we're fielding a bunch of lazy plodders but it doesn't help when we severely handicap our side by *continuously* having the wrong guys in the wrong place.

Two things needed, smarter coach first, and then quickly figure out who is here to play and who isn't. Anybody not on board 100% wiped out immediately. Cappy has had chances to do it, and even showed backbone to dump the stupid six. But one round wasn't enough and we're back to square one, so he's blown his chance.

Ayshford also came out and said Cappy is the best coach he's ever had, up there with Sheens (a joke in itself).
So you've got under performing players coming out supporting an under performing coach. Gotta protect that easy ride.
If changes aren't made it cements the Warriors as a joke organisation set up for average, lazy footballers to make a buck without having to travel all the way to England.
At the very least, Cappy, Vatuvei, Ayhsford, Lillyman should be f**ked off. There are probably a good few more who should join them.

To be fair, Ayshford kinda overperformed this year, compared to what we expected of him...

I honestly rated Ayshford as I watched him quite closely when he was part of Benji and Robbies fun to watch Tigers a few years back. I was wrapt when he got here and nah he played as expected for me.

i thought ayshford was great this season. a centre that can make good decisions and actually setup his outside man. we haven't had that for a while!

Ayshford is not NRL material, He is reserve grade quality at best which means at the Warriors you will look decent enough and be rewarded week in and week out with selection.

Cappy may very well be a good coach in the future - but for a variety of reasons its not happening in the here and now. Lillyman's comments also suggest to me the players accept mediocrity and truly don't believe they're good enough to be disappointed when they miss the 8.

So, do we actually have a coach problem or a bro culture ?

What did Daniel Anderson do in 2001/2002?

He cleaned the club out and taught the next generation of players core skills backing their own instincts to play football first. It was the best brand of football the warriors have had in their history and brought us our one and only silverware with the minor premiership. Anderson would get furious with the players and some even fered him. Imagine what Des Hasler could do with the Warriors.

you can take des anytime you like

Not sure you can really compare the circumstances though. Ando got to clean the club out because he essentially inherited a clean slate- after the Aucklamd Warriors went belly up all the player contracts were terminated and they all had to be renegotiated anyway. It's wasn't like he went through an existing roster and culled it, they actually had to scratch together a roster just to play in 2001.
