So four teams have been eliminated. Hand wring ensues, heads must roll.

But how about we cast our minds back to the start of the year. I think all of those teams get at least a B+ on the curve.

Dogs fans, sure a top 4 out in straight sets hurts. But if we'd kicked off the year with: you'll bow out with losses to Penrith and Melbourne, the first thing you'd be wondering was how did you lose twice from the second 4?

The Wahs had a wild ride, yep they faded as the year went on but you lost a key spine player and the sheer fact you felt the loss is a massive gain from the expectation of bowing out early isn't it. I'm adding a sentence just so the sensitive wahs fans can't say i didn't give them the same word count.

Raiders. Yep no one cares about the minor premiership, it's wrong but it is what it is. And as much as it hurt the dogs going out completing the big code quinella of minor premiers to bali tourists in two weeks is a next level sting. Still your team killed it, you weren't on many wooden spoon lists but you likewise weren't a popular finals pick. Tell me you didn't love every minute prior to September.

Roosters well a few weeks in and the pessimistic "out of the finals" begininng of the year position looked like the best case scenario. Burnt the house down in the back half and blooded a bunch of youngsters. If it wasn't fun it was at least fun adjacent.

So to the recent fallen tell me, if I'd offered you this exact season at the start of the year would you have taken it?
