Down on the sideline

Does anyone else think it would be better to have Raper sitting down on the sideline rather then in the coach's box, like Ricky Stuart and Johnny Lang? Maybe so he can communicate with the team a bit better?

Ricky was fined $10,000 this week, because he "...didn't realise the refs and touchies could hear him so clearly..."

He is very close to being "sent off" as a coach. Imagine if his team wasn't going so well!!!?

Is that intimidation for the refs, or motivation for the team? I go with the first option myself!!

Remember when Bill Harrigan sent Phil Gould off the sideline during a fiery Cronulla-Penrith game some years back? Those were the days.... :)

Those were the days alright. It was the end of the "easybeats" tag Sullyfan. I remember it well enough to want it badly again. The era was end of season 1994 to name the date - teams were actually fearing coming to Shark Park, not pencilling in a win weeks before hand.

Seems like after all the time that was spent working towards a Premiership win, amounts to bringing the club back to the time when we were "easybeats" - now in 2004. 2003 was just a sample of the efforts we are yet to witness this year.

I fear new depths of innadequacy will be plumbed this year and I hope I am so wrong. Pop gun forwards, little passion for the jumper worn, lack of penetration in the backs and a flipant attitude towards fans by the board, are the rewards to Sharks fans for many years of waiting.

Fewer fans coming through the gates, no free to air, scant merchandise sales and bottom of the ladder position means little revenue to be raised to get us out of the mess that the board has created. And the cycle continues until they are overthrown.

Raper sat on the sidelines during the second half.. I was about 3 metres behind him.

As an amusing aside, some clown behind me caught the ball from a penalty and when he threw it back, it would've missed Stuey's head by an inch. He didn't even flinch.
