Just be mindful of the bidding increments. They are $500 up until $10,000 and $1.000 thereafter.

So if a guy is sitting at $10,000, the next bid must at least be $11,000.

I think initially we're going to have some long bidding wars because its all blue chippers
Once you get past the first 50 or so i expect things to move along much quicker

Nobody should be doing any last minute bidding, if you want a guy, put a bid in, this isn't ebay, you're not going to nab someone at the death.

We've got plenty of time, we can up the nomination limit from 20 to speed things up. If it gets real bad we can set an end date for all auctions.

See how this next couple of days goes.

This is a first for most (me included) so not sure how it will go. In theory it should speed up as we go along as rosters fill up and lower salaried guys get nominated.

I'd rather not nominate more than 20 players. Sometimes you gotta bid on 5 players in the same position to try and get one of them. Can you remove your bid if you get one player and don't want to end up with more players in that position than you want? Especially the big bids.

There's no way for owners to remove bids. That's part of the challenge of managing the roster and cap. Make a choice and bid on the guys you like

I might hold onto them if nobody is going to bid, good value at the league minimum salary. If not, I can delete individual auctions if need be when logged in as commish.

i don't understand why it has to be 24 hours. everybody should have a smart phone. i hardly doubt anyone sleeps 12 hours at one time. i know i'll be checking every hour at a minimum if i can. takes 30 seconds of your time.

why can't we make it 12 hours?

but a blind auction, so you just set the price you're willing to pay and the highest bid after 24 hours wins

But maybe it's not really required, i mean OBJ is already up to 33k, its only 8 hours in, at some point by tomorrow he'll either be won or his price will have gone to a level where we're just waiting out the clock, so this stuff is going to start moving at a reasonable pace

Honestly Ebay style bidding would be a much better option. Set an end time, put your max bid in, others put their bids in and bump your price up, until theyve had enough or go past your maximum.

Maybe do something like that for FA next season.

Really, we've only got this big a draft once, ever. Just get through it, we've got heaps of time, there's basically nothing to do but this for the off season this year.
