Dragons..wow. I have not seen a team with such depth in many years.

Boyd out...bring in Nightinggale.
Morris out...bring in Michael Lett.
Soward out...bring in Matt Head.
Matt Cooper out...bring in Stanley.
Weyman out...bring in Prior.
Young out...bring in Priddis.
Smith out...bring in Costigan.

Amazing depth. They are certainties to finish in the semies at the very least.

Funny enough, they had most of these blokes last year. Bennett has been the main difference. Made these talented players believe in themselves.

He hasn't played in too many games this year, but Lett would walk into a good lot of sides in the NRL. Very clever player.

brown is young and inexperienced. I am not too sure if he will ever be on of the greats either.

with the amount of blowing of wind up the dragons arse this year they better win the bloody GF , if they dont surely this year will be their biggest choke to end all chokes

I agree in the sense that I believe the Dragons are deserved premiership favourites, as I've said, they have all the boxes ticked in 2009. To say they are the 'Best Bennett coached side since 2000' is stupid given they don't enter any debate until they get the job done come finals time.

Who was leading after round 18 in any Bennett coached premiership winning side? Who knows. Who cares. It doesn't matter.

I sure like the confidence of Dragons fans who have failed time and time again since 1979 come finals time ;-)

No, Melbourne winning only 1 from 3 Grand Finals when they were cleary the best team running around over that 2006-08 span (if not one of THE great club teams of the modern era) would still rank ahead of them for mine.

, would have been intersting to see if melbourne would have been 0-3 if they didnt have the luckiest year 2007 won by default

They are definitely the bench mark. They just hang in the match with brick wall defence, then as soon as the other team drops the ball, the likes of Soward, Boyd and Morris just carve them up on the counter attack. Will be VERY hard to beat come September.

Man, this is really, really gonna hurt come finals time.
Well Engine is a Tigers supporter, so I don't think he has a great deal to lose by talking up the competition leaders.

No it won't.
I don't get why people think...say...a Minor Premier loses the Grand Final it's a choke. You make it there as an underdog and win, people refer to it as an upset, it'd be f*cking insulting to that team. I still don't get why people think Penrith beating us 18-6 in 2003 was an upset...

If Dragons lose to a stunning side like the Dogs or Titans, no choke there. Outplay.

I can't believe I just said this.

I've always had respect for the dragons. They have just never had that inner toughness about them, until 2009. There is no way you can compare this side to the one that were raging favourites for the title in 2005.
The 2009 Dragon team would belt the 2005 one by about 24 points.
