Dragons Could Move to First on the Ladder

If the Dragons beat the Tigers on Sunday, we could move to first on the ladder. We have a tuff run of games coming up so we need to make every post a winner against the Tigers.

Will there be a change in the Dragon's line-up or Mary's game plan?

I think that is a case of rose coloured glasses. We have some glaring weakness down the right side defence and will get unpicked as soon as the forwards have an off day.

That Mary can't/won't act on this will get us eventually.

What should we do to fix this problem?

Have Frizell and De Belin confront / shut down the first receiver on the right.
Have McCrone and Aitken move up to cover any line break.
Have Dugan defend at right centre.
Instruct Macdonald to stay in line with Dugan and wide enough to mark his opposition winger.
Have Nightingale move to defend in front of the right hand post.

So when they swing the ball right, De Belin and Dugan will provide extra cover in defence. We should have practiced something like this in the last two games.

Not sure if our weaknesses are are just contained to our right hand side.

Josh McCrone is known to roam all over the shop and a full eighty minute on field contribution may make our task of winning this game, that much harder.

I think Mary won't make any changes until defeat is staring him in the face.

Pretty premature this thread. It's all about September. So long as we are well placed then who cares about ladder position in April. The focus should be on the wins column and for and against.

This is so spot on. Add bench rotation, 'kicking' game of McCrone etc. Teams will figure us out which is why we need to find another gear but I'm afraid Mary has his hand on the wrong knob!

I'm ok with Mann in for Aitken but I'm a bit perexed at why Mary seems reluctant to play Milne, a specialist right centre and playing beside his mate Nene who he has played a lot with in juniors and have a natural combination, both in attack and defense.

Curious.
