if stgeorge Choker dragons was changed to Illawarra Steelers would the ones that hate the dragons actually like the team or is it the players that annoy you more than the name of the club.
personally i would like to see Illawarra name on the title if they win and just cut out the st george part

Totally. The way alot of them are carrying on around here you'd think they're already shot in the water, most of them are talking up their team to the point where they seem to be trying to talk themselves into thinking what they say is actually true.

The finals are a whole new ball game. They looked shaky against the Broncos, I'm looking forward to watching the Panthers v Raiders tomorrow night, it'll give a good indication as to whether the Raiders are the real deal this year.

The regular baiting exercise about who provides the juniors is just jealousy. But unfortunately this trolling does contribute to the spread of misinformation.

Apart from it lacking facts, the claim forgets that the Dragons joint venture are one team. The Steelers were going to fold and St George provided the money to the joint venture - much of this went into junior development. I didn't see Canberra or any other club with enough coin to make a difference in 1998/99. But I bet other clubs would have carved up the Illawarra if given the chance. The joint venture ensured a long term rugby league nursery in the Illawarra, and nurturing junior development in the Illawarra benefits the entire game. The NRL would be the poorer if not for it.

I agree. By far the most annoying fans at the moment. Anyone would of thought the grand final was in round 24 the way some raider fans are carrying on.Even the players are annoying. Found it funny when they said they were disappointed not to be playing the Dragons. Arrogant #ankers.

I don't mean all Dragons fans. Just the ones who refuse to call the team St George-Illawarra, and who think that it's not a new club that started in 99.

And we have no need to be jealous because our juniors are the best in the world.

Queanbeyan is part of our catchment area. As far as I know we didn't take over another existing first grade club to get those juniors. Canberra - Queanbeyan it's all one and the same. We'd be giving credit to ourselves.
