I’m happy for Su’a to get it but if Gutho has signed I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets it.

I think Gutho is the only possible leader still to come (potentially).. the rest like JAC, Lodge wouldnt be.. any young half wouldnt be captain for many years yet either.

So Su'a is the obvious one in the forwards, but Cook & Gutho are very much captain material also.. so im not sure if we will do co-captains or not.. hopefully they gel well.. and its a cohesive group.. anyway this is Flanno stuff to work out... he knows the blokes.

I think Cook may be the best for Capt as he is a local junior and has played at a high level. It may inspire the others that left the club to return and possibly be a future captain of the club.

I have a feeling it may be co-captains in Cook and Gutho.

Why not Sua? He has shown his desire to be here (resigning a new contract). Still concerned Cook didn't really want to leave Souths and I think Val was sweet-talked into coming here. Just my opinions.

I can’t see the club giving a new signing the captaincy straight off. That may change as the year goes on but would be shocked it they did it straight away.

I prefer a captain who is a motor mouth and will nag the refs. So Cook or Gutho.

It is interesting.. everyone I talk to at the club points to Su'a as the unofficial leader of the 2024 group.. but that was before Cook or Gutho got here.. I know they are new to the club, but both seem like the real-deal experienced captain material.. Gutho is also on the field for 80 minutes.

Su'a might not even want to do it.. he seems like an awesome guy but is he an extrovert? Does he lead by example or whats his talk like? Whats his ref debate like? Noone would begrudge him ofcourse if hes picked.

This is something Flanno can monitor over the pre-seaosn however, the Dogs announced their captain on February 22nd so right before the season kick off.. we might well do the same.. lets the boys sweat together over the off-season.. and see what dynamics take place.

From what Ive read Hunt wasn't even a Captains arshole
he didnt hang around the group nor did he socialize with them
he did socialize with his old mates from the Broncos when they at the dragons
says it all, very toxic
