Dragons Props - Fantasy League

I need some help boys. I have done pretty well at Fantasy League and won a bit of coin both years (helped pay the ex wife off). There are some good buys in the Dragons front row and with Poore gone whoever gets some game time will rise in value very quickly. The question is which players to pick.

I reckon Weyman & Hunt will start but not sure from there. Green went great last year (but isn't much value on Fantasy League). I think Merrin is a potential super star. There are big wraps on Greenfield. Paolo is a smokey. Saffy is solid. Thorby may need some injuries to force his way in. All are good players and all are value buys.

Any thoughts on who to choose??

What comp did you win money from? That's a pretty good effort...why are you asking for help from us? lol

Out of the Dragons props, Dan Hunt will be a very good value purchase IMO...he will almost certainly become a starter and in any case will have much more game time and will be given much more responsibility. Greenfield and Saffy could be interesting depending on the minutes they play and if they can stay in the team. Can't see Merrin doing much yet...not sure if he's fit enough.

As for other props...Aiden Tolman from the Storm is good value, if that's what you're looking for. If Jason Ryles can stay on the park then he will be good as well. Douglas, Hannant, Snowden, Bailey and Cayless will all score high but they will be expensive.

Ive chucked Greenfield in as one of my subs

one of the cheapest front rowers going round, me thinks he will rise in value big time!

Yep have Burgess & Ryles as my bargains + 2 good scoring (but expensive) props. It is really the absolute bargain that I am looking for. The dude who starts at approx $100K then sky rockets thru game time (they score based on a bell curve). I think either Greenfield or Merrin is the guy but which one and will they hold their position for at least the first 5 weeks?

Snowden & Kenny are low profile guys with good work rates, Galloway is another consistent prop - I haven't seen their prices though

SuperSoward - any reason you didn't pick Matt Hilder over Paterson at the same value (but higher points)? I'm struggling to put together a reasonable team and just wanted to know your strategy.

Burgess, Cayless, Tuquiri, Tahu, Ryles are all cheap as chips. About 130k each.

May as well take a punt on all of them and then stack the backrow with the big scorers.

Hmmm - me thinks I'm talking about the wrong Fantasy League - I was referring to the Foxtel Fantasy League which works on a points value not a money value! Doh. Which one are you folk playing?

Matt Hilder always scored well (in DT at least) when playing 80 minutes, but under Smith had to content the lock position with Karawana a fair bit giving some dodgy scores. Will probably hold off to see how he's used this year.

Paterson didn't score too well overall as a result of skipping half the season with Depression. I'm guessing he wasn't 100% the rest of the time. I can see this being a better season for him.

Best to specify is you're talking nrl.com, Daily Telegraph or something else though, as player's worth can vary between them.

Paterson is likely to kick goals with Gidley out for up to a third of the season - this would be a good pick up.

Unless young Peter Mata'utia gets a crack. Plays fullback, kicks goals. Is definitely close. I think McDonnell is currently injured.

Kade Snowden is a prop i really like for any fantasy league. Has kicked on heaps last season.

i'm talkin about nrl.com

so Hilder costs a lot more. Paterson is a bargain. He kicks goals (Gidley is injured so...), has got over his depression thing and is a decent back rower. I like what i saw from him in the all stars game. I am expecting a big year from him.

Liam Fulton is also an alright pickup. hes in my reserves.

I have Soward and he costs heaps. I think i might drop him for 1 or 2 games and let his value drop then get him back.
