The St George Illawarra Dragons have announced the re-signing of Australian Schoolboy Representatives Reece Robson and Zac Lomax to new contracts.

Dragons National Youth Competition hooker Reece Robson, who was previously part of the St George Dragons SG Ball team, has been signed for a further season, until at least the end of 2017.

Additionally, local Temora junior Zac Lomax, a backrower who can also play in the centres, was part of Illawarra Steelers SG Ball Grand Final team and has been signed for a further three seasons until at least the end of 2019.

Both players were recently named in the 2016 Australian Schoolboy squad following impressive displays during the 18 Years Championships held earlier this month in Brisbane and were also part of the NSW U18 team.

“It is exciting that both Reece and Zac have decided to continue their footballing education here at the Dragons,” said Director of Rugby League Pathways Ian Millward.

“It was great watching both Zac and Reece in action for the NSW U18 side and they have been rewarded once again for their hard work by being named in the 2016 Australian Schoolboy squad.

“Both are talented players and have bright futures here with the Club.”

Just an update, the Aussie schoolboys defeated the England Academy 50-26

Zac Lomax played centre and scored 2 tries.
Reese was used as an interchange player.

I didnt realise how young Robson was, just turned 18 last month, so another 2 full seasons still in 20's, heaps of time to develop still.

Lomax I cant find his d.o.b, but played U16's last year so although he looks like a big tall unit, hes very young, anyone know when he will start playing 20's? Next season?

Lomax has another year of SG Ball.. (17 this year)
However you will see him running around in the NYC not the Steelers

He will start with the Steelers then probably move up sometime throughout the year.

All depends on what happens with Herbert and Edwards.

Herbert will move upto the Cutters you would think and Edwards proabably move on from the club if he is to old for the NYC next year.

Interesting, is there a minimum age for NYC? Seems like if hes already playing a little above his age for NSW U18's, seems ripe for fast-tracking.

and afaik the NYC is still going ahead next year, they did talk about scrapping it completely, but nothing seems to have happened since then.

NYC will continue as is till 2018 however will change in stature being a state based completion following next year.. That is the general talk unless things have changed..
Minimum age to play NYC is currently 17
The resigning of The Lomax boys is outstanding, I hear there was a huge amount of pressure from Manly and the Tamora connection with Barrett
