Unless your privy to the Inner workings of the Dragons then or Morris is standing with a Dogs jersey on you can say and speculate as much as you like.

id like to see a statement from the club re; these issues theres a lot of speculation in the press and the club has been conspicuously quiet in all of this i think they owe it to their members at least!

I'm just really glad the internal audit and review conducted end of 2013 picked these cap issues up and put a plan in place to fix BEFORE they offered overs for more players for 2014. .:sarcasm:

Just because the Telegraph reported it, does not mean it's complete crap. Sure, they love to sensationalise, but rest assured, there are sweeping changes at the Dragons due to cap pressure.

Dugan, Marshall, and Widdop have cost the club a bomb, whilst our two wingers take up close to 800k a year; compare that to Souths/Roosters who probably only have half of that tied up on their flanks.

Add to that, the fact that Beale came on overs to play fullback (the new Boyd they said), but wound up being just another average first grader. Merrin and Hunt are both on reasonable deals, and when you consider that a squad of 25 is mandatory, you can see how we are a little trouble. It's rather ironic that our lack of success has caused a cap sqeeze, because instead of sorting out the coaching issue way back when, we let Price run the joint for two and half years, and he thought he'd just go shopping to fix everything.

Ok. While I don't want to see the Dragons lose some, or all of these players, there is the other side that nobody considers. What if they kept all those players and lost 10 of the up and coming players from the 20's? Fonnua Blake, Dufty, Sele, Leilua, Drew Hutchinson, Host, Issac Thompson, Euen Aitken, these players are signed for the next couple of years, but surely they will be starting to knock on the door in the next year or two. There are a few more also who will move up to the Cutters, and they may even be looked at for NRL. So if we lost all of these players, the club would be in a worse mess. Everyone complained when we lost Jackson Hastings and Jack Bird, imagine the cry if we lost these players as well?? Perhaps, and this is just a guess, the club is looking at the longer term and not the short term.

You are friggin delusional to suggest there is any long term strategic vision or planning going on in Dousty's head, and this mess is part of that plan ... Ensuring our junior talent is locked up ... Sweet Jesus

Apparently there was a truck crash in Dee Why today. It must not have happened because it was reported in the Telegraph.

Ive outlined in my previous post, there are 6 reasons why our cap is in crisis, Thompsons contract reversal is just one of them, most of these issues are a result of decisions made in 2012 & 2013... im not sure why most of you are focussing purely on Thompson.

Lol.....

Isn't it funny that the truck driver claims his brakes failed. Looking at the taxi cam, it's obvious he was trying to beat the traffic lights, the amber arrow turned red as soon as his back left wheel hit the gutter/path.

Depends. If he claimed that in his interview with the media, then its definitely gotta be false...

How can you be 500k+ over the cap and still be the front runners to sign Packer at a reported 300k a season? Doesn't all add up. However wouldn't mind the Broncos picking up Merrin. If we hadn't sign Garbutt and Gavett to join Parker, McGuire and Kennedy in our front row rotation Bennett might have even had a nibble at Hunt.
Thank you for the Brisbane update.

Hahaha $600k over the cap so we need to lose 8 players???
Yes, the story loses it right there. Even if these players are asking for increases and we're looking to buy some forwards (Hahaha), then it still doesn't equal cutting more then half the run-on team.
Just because the Telegraph reported it, does not mean it's complete crap.
I tend to agree, it's only 90% rubbish. And even those sentences that are possibly true will still get a laugh...
Paul McGregor, known to be an uncompromising leader, is determined to implement his own squad.

I just hope McGregor ends up with the team he wants and that team includes Inglis, Cherry Evans, Segeyaro and Matulino.

Nice. But we stand a better chance of signing Langlands, Billy Smith, Kearney and Provan.
