I assume once again OT you are having a dig at me for saying that the players of today are FULL TIME PROFESSIONALS as compared to yesteryear. I'm also wondering what it would have been like cheering for a spear tackle so that player could be removed from the field possibly with a broken neck, but you would call that inspiration. I'm sure you would remember the name Les Boyd, what a marvelous example of a sportsman that man was, but then again I suppose you have a photo of him in your living room. Why dont you just enjoy the fact you got to see the best (in your eyes) and leave it at that, instead of continually smashing our current players and coaches no matter from any side in the NRL, there is no comparison, there never will be any comparison.
Since when did I condone foul / illegal play?

I understand the present and the past but have simply pointed out that I believe there are better records than Bennett and it is you that wishes to diminish / dismiss the coaches of former years.

You intimated that things were different form now to back then and how much harder it is for the coaches but I do not believe you have made your case and the things you have used to prosecute your argument I contend were as relevant then as they are now regardless of full time professionalism or not.

78,056 at GF in a ground that held 60,000 at best and > 40,000 turning up to watch a test match v's the old enemy or for that matter Saints V anyone Sat 3pm at the SCG indicates that the public were more than happy with the product and the coach's were primarily responsible for that.

Wouldn't of picked Michael Molo.
Maybe gave Kerr a first up chance.
Amine not yet and at least no Woods why he got an extra year option is beyond me.
But I just had a look who's officiating.
One of our favs Chris Sutton, and bunker Kasey Badger.
That's a fizzer right there.
Everytime we get Sutton he gives it to us and the crowd wants to rip him to shreds.

I have watched young Sloan for many years. I mentioned on another forum the way he glides over the ground he reminded me of a David Peachey type of fullback. My issue with Sloan is not his attacking prowess but his defensive prowess. In the modern game it's the fullback that orchestrates the defensive line and what I have observed of him in this area is that he hasn't grown into that role as of yet

Mbye? Taking the sting out of the Titans forwards pack? He will be tackling Faasumalavi, Fotuaika, Joliffe his stat's for last year were he played 22 games made 14.68 tackles a game and missed 55 tackles avg 2.5 a game and that wasn't playing hooker. There is no doubt in my mind that if I were coaching the Titans I'd be telling my engine room to run directly at Mbye. This will ensure that our props will have to shorten their spacing to help him which in turn will open gaps on our edges. Mark my words
