Do players practice taking drop kicks or setting up play for the 1 pointer?? The act of kicking a drop goal can make or break a result - ask the Kiwis.

I am from the old school that believes that the goal kicker (for set goals more so than field goals) should be pretty much the first man chosen in a team. An ace sharp shooter is worth so many points alone to a team that I think it's quite justified to expect the rest of the team to cover any deficencies the rest of his game might have (within reason).

Raises an interesting point, though. IN AFL, dropkicks weremainly used for accuracy. IN an era when a kicker can drop a bomb or a grubber on any blade of grass he choses, the art of the FG is a bit sad in comparison.

Great chase by the Kiwis, though.

Pressure.
Kicking field goals after training with some of your team mates running at you to try and simulate a "pressure" situation is a little different to acutal game time pressure...especially when it is to win a tri nations final.
