Drugs-Doping

I haven't been following the news that closely, but I'm guessing there will be a shitload of technicalities, grey areas and obfuscation. To me it sounds no different than other organisations / industries whose compliance teams have failed to keep up with rapid changes, innovations and new methods of beating the system.

If we do have any "offenders" within the Warriors, they'll probably be the Australians ;-)

Can't work out if it's a storm in a teacup (no pun intended) or a media beat up. I just know the media are hammering it for all it's worth.

Nut......they'll be Queenslanders obviously.

Rugby league would seem an ideal sports for drug taking as it would have immense advantages in terms of performance.

But I find it hard to imagine any serious systematic drug abuse in the NRL - likely some individuals on the sly, maybe some on-the-edge supplements, but surely not any sophisticated stuff like in cycling, or cap rorting...

Important to have an in-depth look though. Should every five years or so anyway.

Prediction: Storm in a bath-tub.

Based on last years performance I weould say for the most part we are in the clear. Mind you when we were found to be cheating the cap years back we came something like second to last.

Clearly wouldn't have this injecting shit fly on his watch and Bluely didn't have enough time to implement anything. I'd say our 2012 squad is pretty safe.

Manly could be in shit, I'm not sure. Penrith got audited today which I thought was a surprise. Some reported over here in Aussie are pointing towards to the Sharks but who knows for sure. Cronulla and Newcastke were audited last night.

I think the AFL and the Essendon Bombers are in a lot of shit and the AFL would be looking to deflecting blame as they do and it's no surprise to me that Penrith are in the firing line as they are one of the 4 western clubs IMO would be easier to hammer when it comes to fan support and numbers (however still a well supported team) and its right in the GWS territory. That's my thoughts, I could be wrong but that's a feeling I get hearing if on the radio, TV and online media.

Joey got away with taking recreational drugs his whole career and never got caught. I would not bd surprised at all if there was systemic cheating taking place. Also look at the match fixing (was it last year, can't remember). That got swept under the carpet nicely. NZ will more than likely have our issues as well. That could definitely grow into something more. Everybody should read Tyler hamilton's book - the secret race. It outlines how easy it was to beat blood doping tests throughout the '00s. Very hood read even if u know nothing about cycling.

Unfortunately during the ABC's 7.30 Report program tonight they used generic vision for the story.

A lot of it was from the 2011 NRL Grand Final and therefore we had to endure plenty of Warriors vision matched to damning narrative. Taylor and Vatuvei of course scored tries and their names were called out along with pictures of our fans.

It looked terrible and I'm sure our management weren't impressed.

i heard a rumor about a week ago about 2 kiwis that were being investigated for something dodgy. they didn't mention what it was about... just that something was going down. it maybe something completely unrelated but they were both involved heavily with one of the clubs being investigated.

No Warriors... and there not just players.

mind you... i heard this from from one of the same people who said the Warriors were going after Bellamy.

Strange over here they showed no Warriors matches on the news and showed mainly Manley and Storm footage, which is pretty unfair as no one in the NRL has been proven of doing any wrong at this point in time.
If there is any wrong doing I hope its a few rogue individuals rather than entire teams or a good chunk of any particular team.

Think I'll just wait to see what drops out the bottom. It's all just airy fairy nebulous bulldust at the moment. The TV breaky shows are full of it this morning here. There is not one fact come out of it yet....

Pretty terrible when the NZ Media straight away links Robson to the Warriors...he left 15 odd years ago for god sake.

The Essendon Bombers, Sydney Swans, Warriors, Sea Eagles and Storm were in the vision used for the story last night on ABC. The program is a national one so goes to the league ignorant states as well.

The Warriors were probably just there through association with Manly in the GF, as Manly seem to be one of the targets. It pissed me off seeing the Warriors mixed up in the story though.

All the NRL footage was from GFs, that the only reason those clubs were shown.

And Rpbson wasn't linked to us in Aus reporting, the NZ media just used the link for local interest.

There's been nothing specific pointing to us yet, but make no mistake, the whole thing IS big.

Reading through a few things, the first thing I'd say is things would have to be fairly serious to have a federal minister pull sporting CEO's from around Australia to Canberra for a press conference. David Smith also said this ""It is very clear that I can't disclose the information given. But this is more than one club and more than one player."

I think thats quite concerning for the NRL in a broad sense. Personally, given the club is based in New Zealand, and would be I guess under the government regulations of New Zealand, I really am not concerned.
