Alan Tongue should be first bloke picked, build the team around him.
Tonguey is a typical SOO player. If he was a Queenslander he'd been a special - and would have been a regular for a long time

Rubbish. Great club player but he won't cut the mustard at origin level. There are far too many options in the back row and hooker to even consider him for a spot.

Pete, I think Jack Gibson was one of the greatest rugby league judges in the history but even a genius like Gibson can make a bad error of judgement when it comes to playing players that aren't suited for that game, Alan Tongue reminds me of Alan Wilson, fantastic clubman who would never let you down at club level but never suited for origin and it was proven.

lol this thread is ridiculous. What the hell has Tahu done to deserve being in the SOO team?

Hindy hasnt been much chop this season either, he'd want to lift his form sooner rather than later if he wants to make the team let alone captain it.

personally i don't see much difference between tongue and dallas johnston as far as skill and roles. but nsw always pick on hype not on substance. hence hindys absence

hindy would be the kind of player that can lift for the big origin occasions. just like hayne has managed to do in the last couple of years.

Since when did having natural ability make you a show pony?

Tongue's a great clubman but he is no origin player.

Don't pick him..Good - and don't pluck blokes of the standard of 'Adam Mogg' from obscurity. Tell the Kiwi's not to pick blokes like Olsen Filipana from second grade for Test matches, good club players but NEVER any good at representative level!!!!!

REMEMBER - All that glitters is not gold, and a piece of coal under pressure sometimes turns into a diamond.

Just my opinion, do what you like with em. Laugh at em, agree with em, or chuck em in the bin. Opinions are like bums..everyone has one.

Tahu has proven himself at rep level in the past. I'd only consider him for a wing spot. Let's keep in mind NSW selectors have picked Steve Turner, James McManus, and David Williams on the wing for the past couple of years and they've all embarrassed themselves at origin level. At least with Tahu you know he won't let you down.

Hindy's from hasn't been great so far, but who's has? He's been the most consistent backrower in the NRL this decade and never disappoints. Hindy in poor form is still better than most backrowers in reasonable form.

Tahu proved himself at rep level what 3+ years ago? Don't get me wrong, he will improve this season, but he has been very disappointing in the his return to NRL imo and spent the majority of his time in Union battling his hamstring problems. Brett Morris is a lock for one of the wing positions, the other one still up for grabs and unless he improve I cant see any way he will be selected.

Laffranchi, LOD and G. Stewart have all been a lot better than Hindy this season, in saying that Im pretty sure Hindy will improve and be picked in the team. I just think he may be getting ahead of himself.

love the guy to death, but I tend to agree and you can probably add Watmough, Minichello and Creigh to that list also..

unfortunately my idol has done his dash when it comes to rep footy..

Brett Morris is a lock no doubt. Hayne will play fullback... leaving the other wing spot open. This has been a problem area for NSW for the past 2 seasons. Hayne's held his spot on the wing... but as I said Turner, McManus, Williams, Quinn have all been tried and failed at origin level during this time. The NSW selectors have struggled to fill this position and a fit Tahu is better than any of their other other options regardless of how well they're playing.

Not right now, no...
But I do have a SouthsLogan jumper, which is a feeder Club for the Raiders..does that count?
I wear it when I'm on the mower. Lightweight, good for warmer weather
Yep, I do have lots of friends at the Raiders. Friends I have made over the years through my sports and business connections. I am not in the habit of turning my back on my mates
I have mates from the Raiders foundation years, blokes I was on the CRL with when the Raiders were born; players from the Raiders Golden era, players from the mid nineties as well as the current crop.
As well, The Raiders have done plenty for my local Club - plenty - and always do it WILLINGLY.

But I am a Parramatta tragic fan first and foremost..but I do love the Raiders.
