Sydney Roosters stars Brett Finch and Anthony Minichiello are set to make their returns for the club in tonight's NRL round three match against Brisbane at Aussie Stadium.

Neither player was named in Sydney's squad on Tuesday, but The Daily Telegraph reports the pair are ready to make their comebacks against the Broncos.

Finch was expected to be out for another two weeks after breaking both hands in a tackle during a trial match against Penrith in February, but he may fill a bench position in tonight's match.

"Brett is mending quickly," Roosters coach Ricky Stuart told The Daily Telegraph. "He has trained quite strongly but still could be a week away from playing."

Minichiello tore his hamstring in a practice session last week but trained with the Roosters on Thursday night at Wentworth Park. He is expected to be named as a late inclusion at fullback.

Anthony Tupou has been ruled out with an ankle injury and back-rower Nigel Plum will come on to the bench.

Meanwhile, Roosters skipper Luke Ricketson says he is looking forward to playing against former team-mate Justin Hodges in tonight's match.

Hodges switched to the Broncos in the off-season after announcing he wanted to move to Queensland to be closer to his family.

Ricketson said playing against Hodges would add some spice to the match for the Roosters, but no one felt any malice towards him.

"[There] probably will be a little bit of extra feeling in the game," he told ABC Sport.

"[Hodges] had a good career with us, we got on very well with Hodgo. He's gone home for some personal reasons ... he's a great player and we've got to watch him very closely."
