Well I'm with Perverse. I think the fringe guys have performed far better than the so called upper level players. In fact they've performed way above expectations. To be fair Cross hasn't had much opportunity, but if he's going to talk himself up like he did he needs to back it up soon.

You keep pluralising upper level players. Is there another other than Cross? Naiqama has been one of our best all year, you can't be talking about him?

Wicks is the only high profile player to sign that I have found disappointing.

Dureau is a good prospect. Shows some great skills. Him and Mullen will become one of the best half pairings in the comp IMO.

Injury has not helped his cause.

He was good against the Broncos, great considering it was his first game of the year.

His next two were also very solid.

Then Melbourne, which was well below expectations.

One bad game in three, with no game time under his belt..... maybe we are expecting a little much from him.

I'm not passing any judgement on Cross until I see a few more games out of him, everyone else got the first 6 weeks or so to get their match fitness up but he's still catching up on that a bit I reckon.

I have actually only pluralised upper level players once. Really that is an error on my part I was definately not being critical of Wes, and yes he is prob the only other player that you would call high profile. I wouldn't rate Wicks as high profile, he was a fringe first grader at best. I also agree that Cross hasn't had a lot of play time to impress, but what I have seen certainly hasn't put him in the class that he was talking himself up as. He would've been better off not saying anything, and letting actions speak for themselves, and hopefully he will do that.

Yes in that respect, I was more looking at him ability wise. He never set the world on fire at the Dragons, and so far seems to be following the same path here. He IMO needs to decide if he's serious about being a first grade player, and if he is then start putting the work in. If we paid top money for him then whoever condoned that needs a big foot up the arse.
