DWZ requests release from Penrith

it was 'cleary' to most that once Ivan upped and left Wests to go to Penrith that anything he ever had to say about attitude, commitment, loyalty, etc from then on in public or among the panthers playing group, were hollow and meaningless. The decision he made was professional suicide.

Actions speak louder than words, and DWZ is merely following his leader's illustrious example.

On top of this, he's put himself in a lose-lose situation coaching his son.
He doesn't have the professional distance to drop Nathan if required. If he does it could potentially damage his relationship and family life.
But if other players get dropped for poor performance but Nathan is un-droppable, then how does the rest of the team respond? Exactly like DWZ has, I would guess.

Every decision in this mess by Penrith and Ivan Cleary has been a disaster.

DWZ being deeply religious and all - he probably doesn't want to be on a team with a culture of videoing woman on their phones and sharing these with team mates.
Fair enough.

Sometimes the religious ones are the worst. Ever been an alter boy?

The qualifying is almost complete so no idea what you’re talking about.

Qualifying is almost complete but not yet fully complete.

Turkey suffered a big setback to its World Cup prospects with the dreadful injuries to Jansin Turgut, who fell off the third floor of a car park and broke almost every bone in his body.

Poland, with the Watene-Zelesniak brothers and Oledski in the national team, would be far more worthy of a World Cup spot than the 17,300 inhabitants Cook Islands, which will eventually submerge under the effects of sea level rise as a result of global warming. Poland will never submerge.

He should join the dragons. We need a good solid fullback which has been missed since boyd’s days with us

Gareth WIddop will be back by round 20. Where will you play DWZ then?
Widdop should have never been at 1. Hunt should have been Hooker, Norman at 7, widdop at 6, would have been coming first. McGregor needs to learn how to coach a team. Widdop will be gone next year who cares when he comes back now ;) DWZ 1

Maybe the French can find a way of moving Poland to the pacific so they could try to qualify in a pacific berth.
In Europe they seem to be well behind all the teams still involved in qualifying, Scotland, Russia, Greece, Spain, Ireland plus another I believe.

What could it have been about then?

Job security? Cash? He had both at the Tigers and he still had his word.

If not for Nathan, then why cause the massive drama that he did last year?

Oh no, I didn't mean it was bogus as in not true. I meant bogus as in a weird, stupid thing to decide to do. It was clearly all about his son. And that stupid decision is now biting him in the arse.

He absolutely is a good solid fullback, potentially a great one.
He's had his moments, just not this year.

But if other players get dropped for poor performance but Nathan is un-droppable, then how does the rest of the team respond? Exactly like DWZ has, I would guess.
The fact he wasn't selected at centre might suggest it's a problem between player and coach, but suggesting it's over Nathan Cleary is a bit of a stretch. Nathan hasn't played in such a way that he deserved to be dropped. He's had one bad game, the one in Brisbane. It's not just his fault the team isn't going well, it is a team effort.

This club's last premiership win had a player coached by his father. It isn't automatically a disaster. Outsiders guessing at the reasons the club or a particular player isn't going well are just guessing.
