Dylan Brown is overrated

This might be an unpopular take but Dylan Brown isn’t doing anything wrong. If we put the options in his contract to say he can look around then he has every right to try and get the best deal for himself. If his manager isn’t trying to get the best deal for his client then he’s not doing his job. Is it annoying as **** as a fan? Absolutely, but I don’t agree with the takes that he owes us anything. He has every right to do what’s best for himself. Let’s not act like the club doesn’t do the same thing. Look at how the management allowed longtime stalwarts Gutherson, Sivo and RCG to walk away when it suited their interests. I’ll be annoyed too if it turns into a circus but it’s the clubs fault for putting itself in this position. We’re just coming across as salty Eels fans by directing our anger towards Dylan.
That's my take on the situation as well.
Well said.

Fair enough take on the matter. The club are at fault for leaving themselves open to this.

But I just don't think Dylan has read the room here tbh.

His manager has made him look like a selfish wanker labelling him a "franchise player" and sending an email to basically every club in the game & Rugby.

And players pay there managers to represent so its copout for me to let Dylan off the hook because his Manager wants to be a cowboy. Like Dylan could have easily said make a few calls on the quiet and see who is interested.

As i said numerous times what Dylan did in 2023 should have meant he voided the next option as a mark of respect for the stupidity he did and the fact he let the whole club down from top to bottom that cost us our season. We missed out on the finals by 1 game and he sat out 8 matches as a top 5 highest paid players in the club.

In fact the club at the time should have tried to restructure Dylan's contract that the 2025 PO was taken off the table then when they had him over a barrel as by rights they could have sacked him for his behaviour.

It is hard to believe Dylan Brown and his management did not get their desired outcome as a result of the email leak.

However questions needs to be directed to the Eels hierarchy -

Why did a player and his manager think it was ok (if true) to embarrass the Parramatta Eels?

What can we do in the future to prevent the club being embarrassed and taken for a ride by players and their managers?

This sort of stuff does not happen at the Chooks, Storm and Panthers.

Different head honcho calling the shots then KG. I'd be surprised if Ryles didn't seize on any opportunity now days. You give something to get something. It's the art of negotiation. Everyone seems to be rowing in the same direction now and it's about f'n time.

*smartest
Some would say win win.
Win for Dylan If he stays and gets the supposed $1m per season and win for Parra If he leaves as can invest in 2-3 very good players.
The thing is Moses probably has 3-4 yrs to go where Dylan can probably have 10.
It's a tough one.
Start grooming a half back and keep Dylan or Dylan goes and you need to replace him and have a new halfback in 3-4 years.
Succession planning my friends.
It's what smart clubs do.
