Dylan Brown is overrated

There aren't many good halves anymore. They are just robots who work on tackling and booting the ball up.
DCE is probably still in the top 4 and he was just average in his prime (in the 70s).

I think defenses are just much better these days.
Harder for halves to stand out.

There is really no weakness is defenses anymore. You'll get the odd poor defender but not like 15yrs ago.

Attacking now is all about trying to get the other team to make decisions on the spot. Throw decoys at them, change your point of attack, quick play-the-balls. Have the defence try to make enough decisions and eventually they will get some wrong.
Some players are just better than others at making those decisions, but even the best get it wrong occasionally.

Good luck to him if it happens. I reckon it'll be for more money then he'll ever justify with his on field performances... But he can pretty much say goodbye to Finals footy and a premiership... Especially if Ponga f**ks off when Teddy retires....

If Drown left for the Roosters I'd admire him in a way for chasing a premiership. Or if it was the Warriors so he could be closer to extended family and wanting to help the Warriors fulfill potential I'd be cool with that. But signing with the Knights - that's just an obvious paycheck and easy way out IMO... Each to their own....

He aint a No 7 and if he played there I reckon his defensive stats will suffer.

In any case "wouldn't be surprised" is a rather tenuous link.

I rate Webster as a journalist but he is a freelancer now after leaving the Herald, so realistically he can say whatever he wants and he's only putting his own credibility on the line. The 'wouldn't be surprised' comment makes me think he is just drumming up a conversation. Apart from the footy itself kicking off soon its been a pretty slow off-season.

Brown to the Knights makes zero sense.

-The deal isn't any longer and its not for anymore money.

-They want him to play 7 and Brown himself acknowledges he is a 5/8, all of last year proved that.

-Take Ponga out of the team and I would comfortable predict the Knights would be bottom 4. I think if they struggle this season he is a huge chance of joining the Chooks

Only possibility is if he isn't gelling with Ryles or the club.... Call Dyl overrated and a deadshit etc but he's always trained and played with 100% effort, I can't see there being an issue there.

Anyways will see how it plays out.

The only positive in this dylbro saga is that he'd want to show his worth on the field for the first 10 rounds....he will kill it I reckon. Then little f**k needs this kind of motivation.....and then he'll sign elsewhere
