Dylan has been disappointing todate both attack and defence in games this year. he has been a weak link and perhaps he is trying to build his confidence after stellar debut at end of lasts year. he has done nothing this year aend i hope he does settle soon. As he is living off his last year form for now. if he does not settle soon he may need a spell at Norths to rebuild his game , like Champion had to.

Galeforce, i think the whole side has been disappointing so far this year so at least Dylans in good company.

I think we should drop dylan and put mc queen in, and englishmen back to the bench from injury, I think that we will need that strength to hold out anthony wathogh from manly

he is just out of the 20;s and Souths in the effort to win the NYC lst year failed to blood their future NRL players in the state cup on a regular basis to get them used to the physical nature of what is expected. Ask any nyc player who has played state cup and they will tell you it is more physical and faster than NYC as they p[lay against men and not 18yo players. He will take time to adjust and maybe this year the NYC players will play up for a few games. Teams that have done it have had their players adjust faster than South had with their cream.

It's way way way too early to even consider dropping him now. With Taylor and Inglis creating havoc on one side Farrell hasn't had the oppurtunities he normally would have. When Burgess comes back it will make Dylan a much better player.

Gotta keep him playing. Cant continue to use these younger guys as scapegoats. Perfectally capable player he just needs more time to develop and we shouldn't be too rushed to make him a superstar too quick. He had a good game against the Tigers last season and i think its only time he pulls out a few more as he gets used to the speed and intensity of the NRL.

What's more of a worry is that we have no-one with any NRL experience to replace him & i still say that Beau Champion would have had the experience to form a lethal centre combination with GI.
Junior Vai Vai is in the same position so we have really "cut our noses off to spite our faces" & the only real option we have is to persevere with Dylan & give him the opportunity to gain more experience without crucifying him for being inexperienced.

Farrell is a good, young centre. I think the Bunnies just need to persist and accept that he's a bit of a work in progress.

I noticed a couple times last year where I thought his defence was a worry (diving for ankle-taps when he would have been better off to keep chasing). He just needs some coaching, some confidence and some patience.

As much as I think Champion is a good centre and I didn't want him to leave, I think ultimately getting Inglis will prove worth it.

Inglis better than champion , no debate.
we lost two good defensive centres who on average were "team players" in attack . Inglis is both a team player and a real "create a try player from nothing" which is what we have lacked in our centres.
Back on topic , Dylan showed last year he was a young player of potential , however so far this year his defense has been below average and he has not shown any "star" potential this year in attack. either he is not over his injury from late last year or he needs time to develope his game and get his confidence up , however something is missing so far this year.
Other players have had a mix of good play and some poor games.
Dylan has been a weak link in all three games this year in my view.
Manly game should be his last chance to lift , else in the best interests for him and team , he needs time in lower grade to develop his game ( as did champion for a season). If we are not willing to give any of our other 20 years old a chance soon then we may as well cut them also and find a young CENTRE somewhere in NRL who cannot crack an NRL spot.

What a surprise, you disagree with managament's recruiting choices...

Galeforce, i dont think it was an issue of who was the better player but more as to the manner in how the club handled it.
Name me another club in the NRL that would have showed Beau Champion the door in order to sign a player of GI's talent.

Boo Boo ,
has i saw it play out , we went after Inglis and got him and then could not close with NRL and the club had to decide to either let Inglis go or cut another player . To cut another player required another club to agree to take the other player for similar or MORE money. Champion was offerred more money and whilst he preferred to play with souths , he was not punished by the move and it was his final choice. Crocker made it clear in press he was not moving ( he could not get more money nor was their interest from a strong club).
So not sure why you go on about this. I liked Champion , however at the end YES hands down , Inglis in Champion out , with both players in agreement.

I just think we could have let other players other than Champion go.
Would you agree with that ?

No, that's the point.

You can't just cut someone - it had to be someone another club wanted and would be willing to pay for accordingly.

No one wanted Crocker. Let's not even pretend that Wesser would get picked up.

Heck, I don't think anyone would even take Asotasi on the money the Bunnies are paying him after his past two seasons (he's been good this year, though).

Who would you cut that another team would want? Isaac Luke? John Sutton? Sam Burgess?

Champion went because it wasn't a bad deal for him and it was actually something of an endorsement for him as a player.

I think EVERYONE would have rather kept him, but this is the way it turned out and it isn't the end of the world.
