Big loss for a team that lacks attacking spark
Yeah, when Walker comes on, there is a noticeable direction and purpose to the way he plays. He plays direct, whereas Metcalf and CHT can get really sideways and jam what happens outside them.

No idea who comes in, is Healey too small to cover back row? Otherwise it's probably Laban, although he's an edge player.

Stating the obvious, that we all know, but gunna say it anyway, Walkers big advantage to this team was as the utility player. He can just about play every position but prop. His organisation in the middle period of games is so good and so is his defence.

So I start the year with reasonable expectations, Tohu retires, Expectations drop. Still they build up a little over the next week or so. The season starts and hopes dive to underwater and sinking. We win two in a row, start to look up again, thinking it might not be too bad. Walker leaves.......

Might now be TMM at 6 and CHT at 14
Hope not. I do like CHT as a 13 one day and he’s obviously a good utility too, but he’s been asked to play 6 at the moment and the last thing inexperienced halves need are to be chopped and changed.

If they’re playing poorly then sure, it becomes a performance decision. But they’ve bounced back well after Vegas so I hope Webster lets them continue building on their progress.

I know it leaves a hole on the bench but IMO building a settled halves combination should be the priority.
