Okay well when I was holidaying in the UK a few years ago I went to see about half a dozen English Premier League (soccer) matches and was totally blown away by the atmosphere at every game that I attended. Part of the reason it was so good was because of all the chants the fans had come up with and chanted on a regular basis (most were v.clever or funny), anyway I just thought then does anyone think the NRL or the Sharks more relevantly could have chants like the ones in the EPL? Or would you like to see/not see chants used at such a magnitude during games?

I recall the last time I saw Wendall Sailor play at Shark Park.

"Wendall, Wendall" the chant went and I swear he was actually unnerved by it. He kept looking around the crowd as if to say, "this can't be so". Whether it made too much difference to him the big scheme of things, I don't know but, thousands of Shark fans chanting was one hell of an experience.

Oh yeah, we won too. Lockyer missed a goal right on full time.

Soccer is so boring the supporters need something else to occupy their time while the game is on, so they sing songs, fight and urinate on each other.

If soccer teams all had one less player it would nearly be as good as NRL! I know it wont happen (tradition and fear) but I would love to see an exibition game played. More goals would be scored and probably less chanting would be the down side.

To the original question, yes. I saw a few RL and soccer games whilst in the UK in they sing at the League games as well. The soccer was still boring with the chanting.

I think its just the culture in those parts that they like to sing and get behind their team. I'd love Shark Park to be like that, but unless 10000 poms, Swedes or Dutch suddenly start following our team, I can't see things changing.
