MANLY will adopt a ``hit and run'' trip to Brisbane this weekend in a bid to end another hoodoo in 2007.
The Sea Eagles have only won two games from nine attempts at Brisbane's Suncorp Stadium.
They have not won at the ground since round 20 of 2003. But this Manly squad is making a habit of breaking hoodoos with historic victories over Cronulla and Parramatta proof the past means nothing.
``All the players have a lot of self confidence which then breeds confidence through the team,'' lock Luke Williamson said last night.
``The side's been going really well and we have a lot of faith in each other. Across the park we are just a much better team.''
The Sea Eagles will train at Brookvale Oval this morning before heading up to Brisbane for tomorrow's clash with the Broncos.
They will depart Brisbane on Sunday night in a quick turnaround for Friday night's round 22 clash with Newcastle at Gosford Bluetongue Stadium.
The Sea Eagles are also still in the hunt for the minor premiership but need a couple more hiccups from the Storm to claim the $100,000 bonus for finishing the regular season on top.
``We can just concentrate on what we are doing and try to win as many games as we can - it is up to Melbourne as to who wins the minor premiership,'' veteran Steve Menzies said. ``I think at this stage of the year coming first or second is not as important to get the team on a roll and playing some good football with just over a month to the finals, so keeping that roll on is more important at this stage.''
The Broncos are also desperate to get on a roll in their premiership defence as they get on with life without inspirational five-eighth Darren Lockyer.
``There's a bit of adversity and if you can triumph, it makes it very special,'' the champion pivot said of the challenge facing his mates. ``The guys over the last couple of weeks have done some good things.''
