May as well start some early discussion about the tournament...

How does everyone think it will pan out...

Capacity crowds...??..Not hard you would think playing it at toy stadiums...TBH..

Will Australia take the trophy..??

Will NZ keep up it's good form at tournaments and back up last years WC win..??

Will England make some amends for being total losers at the WC and put up a credible performance...??

Can France take a win..??..Will they play a bunch of Aussies out of position or try and blood some French players from Toulouse....??

My placings...

1. Australia
2. NZ
3. England
4. France..

i may aswell start with hyping us up

i think england are going to be a completely different beast to what we saw in the world cup...they are going to be a group of angry men,out for revange and to settle some scores....the feather rustling has aready started when the RFL released the news yesterday "without the ARL consent"...

i would'nt be surprised if frenchman theirry alibert is the ref for the england v australia test either...if it ain't him it'll be steve ganson...

then theres the potential brouhaha over the fact that the all of the aussies & most of the kiwis will have played all year under the 2 ref system...but the 4nation is going to be played with 1 ref...all the moaing we saw at the world cup about the reffing will be nothing compared to whats going to happen at the 4nations...mark my words

as for the teams

france are going to get a good hiding off everyone

new zealand,i feel, are going to return to their jackell & hyde perfmances of previous years...no wayne bennett either...

australia, 1 tournament win in 3,new coach...is the pressure on? will they crack...again?

england, gonna win all 3 group games, win the final and end a 40 year hoodoo.....though i probably said that before the world cup too ..seriously though we have to make the final or else i'll start believing what you lot keep saying about english RL....seriously it's make or break for us..

i think all the stadiums will sell out too...i've already ordered my tickets..

my placings..

it might come down to who can beat france by the most cos i would'nt be surprised if eng, aus,nz all beat each other which would put us all on 2 wins & 1 loss..

I'm not going to say who I'll think will win because this far out it seems pointless. I think it's shaping as a good tournament with AUS, NZL and ENG all very keen to perform for various reasons and France having a big increase in professional players to pick from and home ground advantages.

Since I'm bored and consider myself a part time french-man here's what I think their side could look like this year. Not that differnt to last years but should have alot more depth and quality, from what I hear Sabri will play at Leeds once the Elite season finishes so if he can get a few games in SL it will be a boost for their halves.

I really doubt France will trouble anyone this time round... Give them time, though, and they eventually will.

Looking at that list and thinking about who's not on it (Moly, etc.) shows how France's depth is growing. As long as none of the Bundy Red Cup journeymen are in the side, I'll be pleased...

Is Monie backing up as coach? Is Rinaldi retiring from Interntional football? He's married an Aussie girl and is settling down playing semi-pro football for the new Queensland Cup side, Sunshine Coast.

You're right France probably won't trouble the big-uns but my point was they should be alot stronger than last year and that growth will continue in years to come.

Monie is gone and a new coach will be appointed soon.

If Rinaldi has retired, I would move Baile to 9, Planas to centres and bring Sabri onto the bench.

Really this is England's big chance to shine. If they fail to deliver once again then serious questions will have to be asked...

Too far out to predict anything though. Injuries will be key

Well to start the venues are a disgrace, play the kiwis vs kangaroos at a 12 thousand capacity stadium is a joke, here is thought play it in nz and get double the crowd.
Are the venues confrimed or do the aussies have a say.
While old trafford should of hosted final.
Crowds: Aus vs NZ in london a sellout, Aus vs Eng at wigan 25000, Eng vs France at doncaster 15000, Eng vs NZ at hudderfield 15000, Fra vs Aus sellout, nz vs fra 10000. Final sellout if england play in it.

New Zealand will struggle on the basis of clubs ordering players to get injuries fixed up, and marshall won't be in halves. England will be in final but will again fall to australia but not in a cakewalk.
France who knows depends alot on the new coach monie sent them backwards, forwards is not a problem, it is out wide hopefully greensheilds and mogg play for them. Can only see a handfull of toulouse players griffi, esleme and villegas in team.
Bosc must gel with gresque for them to be a chance, nz at home there best chance for win.

the venues are confirmed...and no the aussies don't get a say..

people,on many boards, have knocked the choice of the stoop...but what they are failing to get their heads around is it's likely that the stoop was the best stadium,in london,available...

QPR have new billionaire football owers and might not have wanted RL played there
FULHAM are'nt allowed rugby played there apparently
MILLWALL's ground would be perfect....if it was'nt in millwall

after those we started heading into 30-40k capacity stadiums, like white hart lane or upton park, which is totally unrealistic for a australia v NZ game..

the stoop will sell out, which is always good PR...and as someone else pointed out it will show the aussies & kiwis who live in london where the stoop is which should see a bounce in quinsRL attendances...hopefully..also as a side note..the stoops pitch is a rugby pitch..a proper regulation sized pitch...not a postage stamp sized pitch like at QPR..

the KC stadium in hull did'nt want a game...that ain't the RFL's fault
CoMS in manchester is only allowed so many none football events there..and this ain't the RFL's fault either

and not using wembley is the players fault

the venues we have chosen will sell out..our at least very nearly...which apparently is a bad thing according to some...
